It all starts with a 300lbs block of machine made clear ice. Takes 4days to make, but man, in this heat it can take up to 6days! #ice #material #tryingtokeepcool (at Portland, Oregon)
Hop on the yellow bus and take a tour to watch James carve an ice sculpture and then turn it into a bong! This Sunday @high5tours promo code “ice” for 2for1 deal. #weedtour #icebong #coolweekend (at Portland, Oregon)
Creating a Reality through Love 2016 Graphite on Paper 24x18 in.
So, I’ve developed a routine of drawing loosely about an hour a day around 5 days a week. I love learning and philosophizing about the world we live in and the universes inside us. Art is my language and my thoughts weren’t being translated into art, but instead lying to rot in my head, spreading. I really needed to let the soul speak, which birthed this habit. (I also wanted to create this habit to inspire my kiddo to draw. Which it did… for the first two weeks). So, after a year, I’m ready to share my journey. In this drawing, I was introduced to the concept, “You create your own reality” or in other words, “What you think, you create.” When I ponder on this deeper, it seems that this “create reality” concept is like perception, but more like a type of controlled perception.
Perception is influenced by the physical senses through a feedback loop with the environment. Meaning, your environment influences your senses and in return you perceive your environment through your senses. A repetition of patterns with the environment starts to create a personal “reality” of the world, also known as a schema.
Emotions are tied to experiences with the environment. When you feel a certain emotion, memories of experiences attached to that emotion also come into the mind, intensifying that emotion. These compounded emotions begin to influence your senses, altering what you experience in your environment.
For example there have been times in my life when I experienced a deep depression and noticed that I saw the world in “grayish-blue” hues (even on sunny days), sounds are more muted, and gloom was seen in a lot of things, people, and myself. However in contrast, having a very elevated state of mind, like visiting an exotic place with enthusiastic joy, colors are more vibrant, the sounds of birds, chimes, and laughter are more prevalent, and social interactions are cheerier.
If you are aware of what you are feeling, thinking, and experiencing, you can consciously change what you want to feel by changing how you think. In other words, by changing your thoughts, you may slowly start to change how you feel by bringing up related emotions that help recreate a preferred way of experiencing the world you live in.
