Akhila feels sorry for people whose anecdotes flop. So she lets out a faint chuckle. As it happens every time she does something inappropriate, she sees in her mind the grimace of conscientious citizens whom she always imagines to be indignant women with short legs.

WHERE WAS THIS YEARS AGO. Maybe I wasn't ready for it until NOW...🤔

We have a duty to take care of ourselves as best as we are able. While it is true that we ourselves will suffer the most from our bad life choices and foolish decisions regarding our health, well-being and finances, we never suffer alone. Others around us, especially family and friends, will be affected by the consequences of our ill-conceived actions (or inaction) because they may have to bail us out or otherwise help us get back on track. And when too many of us make poor life choices, both health-wise and financially, it is a drag on ALL of society as we become a needless burden that could have been avoided, had we taken care to take care of ourselves in the first place. Do your best to be your best. It's not all about you. We ALL affect the world around us in good ways and bad, whether we want to or not.
