Someone who looks at me the way Elijah looks at Elena.
AU Meme - Elijah/Elena sex scene
when youre reading smut and youre positive you have their entire geometry figured out but then someone grabs a knees that shouldn be there
SO. The month is over! I can't believe I wrote SIX fics for this?? A total of 42 419 words according to my AO3 stats. Would you believe me if I tell you that two months ago I had no idea this ship existed? Thank you for organizing @surpriseelejahmonth and giving me a new obsession! I had a blast <3
Quick statistical analysis because I am a math girl at heart: In 50% of these fics, Elijah offers Elena his jacket. Rebekah appears in or is at least mentioned (fondly) in 5/6 because apparently I love her!
Week 1 - Meeting of Contradictions
Elena is freezing cold, but don't worry, Elijah takes off his shirt. Shameless smut.
His heart is cold, but his body is warm, and after being left alone in the rain on Wickery Bridge and almost freezing to death, can Elena really let her past with Elijah stop her from accepting his warmth? Featuring sharing body heat in front of a fireplace and smutty smutty blood drinking

Week 2 - Week of the Literary Love Story
Note to self: don't kidnap your ex girlfriends' doppelgänger, you will repeat the same mistake a third time - Elijah's diary probably
With the terms of their deal violated by the Salvatore brothers' attempt at killing him, Elijah has no other choice but to go through with his threat to take Elena away. What she considers to be kidnapping, he considers a fun little road trip and an unwilling houseguest. She should not find him so damn attractive, after all he was holding her against her will and she had just broken up with Stefan. He should not fall for her, after all, he had made that mistake twice already.
...likely to be continued but technically finished

Week 3 - Significant Memento
Elena is depressed, but Elijah is obsessed...
After tasting Elena's blood in the champagne at the Mikaelson ball, Elijah cannot get rid of the taste. He needs more, and with Klaus furiously protective of every drop he has, there is only one solution: going straight to the source. But something does not feel right about Elena.

Week 4 - Love Letter to an Episode
I have no excuses, this is just smut. Enjoy <3
Elijah is desperate to regain Elena's trust. She agrees to let him teach her how to fight against vampires. Elena cannot say no to his charm (and the idea of getting to stake him), but with every loss comes the sharp sting of his bite. He takes off his shirt. Smut ensues. Inspired by the training scene in TVD between Damon and Elena and the training scene in The Originals between Gia and Elijah

The Originals behind the scenes
Esther saying to Elijah 'my chains don't break so easily' like oooooh the implications. You cannot escape the chains of your past, you cannot break the bonds of family, you will never be free of your trauma
i fully believe esther completely rewrote his memories in order to really drive the “i’m a monster that doesn’t deserve something like romantic love and happiness so i will do everything in my power to at least have family” mentality home 💔 that way he would never be able to fully choose himself first. that level of twisted “protection” of their family would be something i could see her capable of. so dead set on keeping her family “safe” but being so deeply distrustful of her own family that she would dump the hard work onto her second eldest son because finn was a good subordinate but he never had the sheer strength of will elijah had.
You will never able to convince me that Elijah killed Tatia and not Esther's, I refuse to accept that canon. I agree that Esther must have rewrote his memories, it's what makes most sense and honestly it makes him mentioning Freud a couple of episodes later so ironic. Because one of the controversy surrounding Freudian therapies is that in 'uncovering forgotten traumas' there's actually evidence that these events never existed! It's so easy to create false memories that's why you cannot convict on eye witness testimony alone, and that's without the individual being under duress or enchantment as Elijah was at the time
But it does make complete sense for Esther in the grand scheme of things. She says herself that Elijah and Klaus are great strategists and it's well known that Klaus relies on his older brother for guidance and council. It also hadn't escaped Esther's notice that Elijah was infatuated with Hayley. Revealing this 'memory' of Tatia destabilises both of these relationships in one fell swoop. One of Elijahs greatest motivators for Klaus' redemption is the guilt he feels towards his part in helping to bind Klaus' werewolf side because as you say he's the perfect son. He's Esther's perfect gentleman and Mikael's perfect warrior, there's no doubt that Elijah is going to help them even if it means failing as the perfect brother. He has to fail Klaus in order to not fail the greater number of people, his parents. He then spends the next millennium trying to compensate for this one moment of weakness
Elijah having been responsible for Tatia's death would have added to Elijah's perceived betrayals against Klaus given that they both loved her. Whilst also going someway to redeeming Esther to Klaus in her mind. Esther believes the sins she needs to pay for in regard to Klaus are keeping him from his birth father and killing the girl he loved to bind his werewolf side. She fails to understand that keeping him from his wolf side is what made him a target of abuse to Mikael and made him feel isolated from his siblings. Elijah siding with Esther in that moment really only confirms to Klaus that he's different from his siblings
I think Esther's plan in regard to 'revealing' these memories to Elijah was one to destroy his relationships with Klaus and Hayley thus isolating him making him more liable to take her deal. Two, it completely destroys Elijah's sense of self everything he believes to be true about himself is destroyed. Despite what Esther may think Elijah has no qualms with doing what's necessary for his own ends but now she's telling him actually, that's not the case you just don't remember everything you've actually done because you hid it away behind the red door. Three, all of this then paints her in a forgiving light. She breaks him so she can fix him. She's the only one that can offer him redemption and a second chance with her deal. The whole crux of this decision to me is to leave Elijah with no other option than to accept her deal
She doesn't believe she needs to go to such lengths for Rebekah because she's always wanted a family, Kol has spent a millennium chasing after the return of his magic and has already died so he's easily convinced too. Klaus likewise she believes will be easy to convince because surely all he really wants is to belong with the wolves and get to know his real father right? He spent his entire childhood seeking fatherly approval so that must still be the case right? She doesn't know that she's already fucked up because she's once again taken his pack from him by trying to kill Hope. And she fails to understand that Elijah's guilt will still win out. The Tatia memories just further reinforce this concept in Elijah's mind that he has to seek Klaus' redemption in order to be redeemed himself so it was never going to have worked!
unfortunately your honour i love this evil bisexual man 😔 he’s so sick & twisted sometimes but i support him regardless cuz he can do no wrong in my eyes
The Vampire Diaries: Elijah Mikaelson & Elena Gilbert Season 2 Episode 8: “Rose”
not only should they have kissed, she should’ve closed the distance. ik i talk a lot about how elijah is ALWAYS looking at elena as if she was everything he could have ever dreamed of, but the way she is looking at him here ??? she looks like she just realised her feelings for the salvatore brothers was juvenile as fuck compared to what (who) she wants rn
The idea of “but everyone knows that” needs to stop.
I saw a post about someone chiding Millennials for not knowing about JKRowlings transphobia, and asking how it is at all possible that people can exist in the world and the internet and, you know, not know.
Which I mean, I get. It is so present in so many of my online spaces that it seems astounding that someone could simply be ignorant! It feels impossible!
But let me tell you a story:
I went on a girls trip with a bunch of friends. All of us are rather incredibly liberal and all of us are incredibly online.
One girl would not stop talking about Harry Potter.
At one point, another girl asked her why she was ok with supporting it, and she had no real clue that JK Rowling was at all transphobic. She had heard that she likes to support Lesbian causes and thought “oh ok cool!” And that was it. She was AGOG with the news and rather horrified.
I must once again emphasize that she was an incredibly online person. She’s a foodie and a restaurant blogger.
Later in the trip we were picking restaurants and I suggested one I found on Google, and she gasped at me. Actually gasped, asking how I could ever be okay picking that one.
The shock must’ve been on my face, because she then told me all of the shitty things that restaurateur does. He abuses staff. Underpays them. Fires them on a whim. Is known for being one of the worst people to his employees in the entire restaurant business on this coast.
And she was so shocked I had never heard of this. Because in her mind, I was just as online as her. And in her online world, EVERYONE knew about this guy.
So I think the moral of this story is: always approach the other person with some empathy. Even online people, even people you think MUST know about how bad people are, may not have heard. It may truly be just them being on a different sphere of the internet than you.
So be gentle, be kind when letting people know they might not have heard about the cancellation of XYZ person. Don’t assume that everyone knows all the same info as you.
By all means, let them know so they can make informed decisions, but being kind will go a lot further than attacking them for some info they might not know yet.
happy pride month.
in new zealand, our evil government are trying to legislate definitions of women and men, in ways that are legally incoherent but clearly trying to pave the way for more horrifically transphobic legislation. we have an election in a few months but our main opposition party, and all our mainstream news media, are so spineless and cooked that there's a good chance the ghouls will win reelection.
it took 2 whole months for local terf group 'speak up for women' to get 2,000 signatures on the petition that led to this new bill in our parliament.
it's taken five days for this pro-trans 'they don't speak for us' petition to get 17,000 signatures.
this is a show of support that is really heartening for a lot of trans people in our corner of the world.
cis/ish women, if you're from here but haven't signed yet, please do. and if you're not from here and you know any new zealanders, could you send them this petition? a full fifth of our population lives overseas, and there's a good chance they don't follow the news.
