Watercolor practice. Pope Innocent X.
One of the ephemeral gems from Beverly Buchanan’s archives is this illustration of what she calls, her essential lunch: watermelon, bourbon float, greasy fried chicken, potato salad, homemade yeast rolls, rice and gravy, collard greens, a tossed salad, and “that’s it!” With Thanksgiving feasts upon us, we want to know, what is your essential meal? Let us know in the replies!

The bourbon float is doubly designated as an essential food group. I concur!
Adventures with @nextbestcoast. | #makeportraits ps, have you ever felt a place lose its feeling of home and happiness when someone left? Things have been tough lately, really tough. http://ift.tt/2fH98ck
I love these photos. There's such a nostalgic quality that makes me want to have my portrait done, not for the photo but for the memories the photos will bring.
Supermoon.
There are sure to be some funny faces at this Sunday’s Portrait Party as we laugh along with improv group StoryUP! At this Pay What You Wish Family Festival, families get to know the faces in the galleries, express themselves through portraiture, and strike a pose in our photo booth. And don’t forget—kids 12 and under are always free at the Museum.
