There you go! Ā Youāll have to get used to that, then. Ā Some people might get offended if someone younger than them is disrespectful. Ā Um, how do I ask someone what their favorite flavor of ice cream is? Ā I usually base my friendships on that.
Ah, noted, hyung. Okay, but when do you add the -nim part? And ... (switches to english) Whatās your favourite ice cream flavour? (switches back to Korean) Now you try!
Iām your hyung! Ā Thatās awesome! Ā I mean, because Iām usually the young one. Ā But youāre younger than me, so thatās good. Ā Really? Ā I know a lot of basic words, and I can read some English if I concentrate very hard, but it would be cool to learn more. Ā I can definitely help you out. Ā Itās ick-sahn.
Ick-sahn. Ick-sahn. Ick-sahn. Ah, got it! Thanks Winnie ... hyung? Ah, sorry, Iām not used to honorifics. My neighborhood was not affluently Korean. Never had to use them. However, Iām willing to use it. The whole cultural immersion that I lacked is now kicking in - but here, Iāll give you a phrase. Anything in particular you wanted to know?

Sharps, Flats and Naturals | Yejun & Max
New York. Christmas 2005. A musical store they pass by in the streets of Soho catch a young Maxās eyeĀ ā
The sensation of unzipping his violin case was satisfying, reassuring. In the midst of the dramatic transition from home to here, anything familiar would be of some value. Music is on, if not at the top, the list of things that could ease the high-strung first year. It was his alone - not his fathers. Nope. Not at all.Ā
ā In the midst of the clutter of instruments in the display case, a lone violin sits to the furthest table in the showcase. āDad, can we go in?āĀ ā
The practice room was quiet. An ideal situation indeed. āNothing less than perfection,ā his father would say. Everytime he did anything, really, his father would utter those words. The constant motif both haunted and drove him ...
āĀ he dashes in, letting go of his fatherās firm hand, as he runs towards the item that drew his eye. The violin.
Nevermind that. Max delicately placed his instrument on his shoulder, his other hand reached towards the sheet music he needed. With a final adjust of the music stand, he begins.Ā The soft hum of the violin exuded through the air as his bow moved through the motions of the notes.

Yes ā plain and simple. Although it tends to be more common the higher up the clique. Not to mention it all depends on ages and such - a lot of my peers spend more time hooking up than they do studying. Which could be a shame if Mokwon wasnāt the ideal dating pool. 90% of everyone here is either rich or famous, it canāt hurt to bump elbows with people who can give you a career boost later. Especially if all it takes is a little blow jobā¦
Ah ... well, um, interesting indeed.Thank you for your honesty. No oneās been honest with me whatsoever. Has it ever disrupted you? Any first hand accounts? I do need to prepare myself in case such a situation arises, especially if Iām cramming for a test the night before. But some creaking from above breaks my concentration.
I donāt know, Iāve never seen anyone hooking upāĀ well, actually, one time, I saw two people go into the janitorās closet and then IĀ waited for them to come out because IĀ wanted to know what theyĀ were doing in there, but they didnāt come back out until they got caught by a staff member. I went inside the next day to seeĀ what they couldāve been doing, but thereās not a lot to do in a janitorās closet; thereās hardly any space and thereās nothing but cleaning supplies in there. I donāt get it.
Wow are these kids creative. But hey at least its outside of the dorms! Your dedication to figure out the answer yourself is commendable to say the least. Experience is certainly the best teacher - so your research is kind of a first hand reference that incoming students, like myself, will find useful. I would like to ask a few more questions though, as Iām not too sure myself. Was it loud? Disruptive?
Hm⦠well Iām not sure. Shows sometimes are based in real life experiences. But then again, it might be a bit too much. So⦠it depends, I guess? I donāt know. But Iām sure it might not make a negative impact on your studies.
You still seem unsure as to whether it will effect my studies. But I need a direct answer. At least give more details about what disruptions youāve experienced due to a scandalous rendezvous. Was it at the expense of your academic success?
಄_಄ ā„ā„ā„
Youāre welcome, ahā sorry. I donāt know your name? But I havenāt heard of it happening to anyone else, either. Itās just televisionā they always find a way to make school seem more interesting than it actually is.
Iām Maximillian, but call me Max. And yours ... noona? I suppose I should be using honorifics now. Iām not too used to them, but I sure am eager to try. But hey thatās a relief! Is it competitive academically though? Thatās my main priority here at Mokwon. Forgive me if Iām being too forward.
No Wonbin, but I like Winnie better. Ā Yeah, Iām sticking with Max, because thatās a real mouthful. How old are you? Ā I want to go to America one day. Ā My English isnāt the best, but I think Iād know enough to get around. Ā Itād be an adventure, thatās for sure. Ā First class, right. Ā Where I was born? Iksan-si.
Winnie, nice to be acquainted with you. Iām sixteen, heading into my first year actually. Youāre around the same age I suppose ... but Americaās great. I can give you great tips to do around most of the big cities - my family and I travel a lot. But if you ever needed to learn English I could teach you a bit. Only if you help me with my Korean. I mean Iām fluent, but I tend to slip here and there. Iām even having trouble pronounce your hometown! Is it eek-sahn? or ick-sahn?
