AU that I probably won’t write
Unnamed company but with EVERYONE.
I came up with this AU a while back but never got around to writing it, so let me sell it to you all with the contributions from each game.
Obviously this game provides the company everyone works at, but to extend it- Protag can’t leave the building. I’ve seen most people take the elevator doors in the ending being metaphorical, here it is not. He quite literally can’t leave- every window is locked to him and every exit leads back to the elevator. The only break he gets is when he goes to the elevator and it leads him back to a mirror image of his apartment (with infinitely stocked food and water of course), outside of that there’s nothing.
He does eventually learn to get out of this after accepting an offer from Coworker to go out for drinks just to be surprised that it actually worked and get a hint for how to open the doors that he takes full advantage of.
Coworker is just Coworker. He doesn’t talk much to the crossover people, though he did hit on Angelica at least once before both being threatened, and learning that he harbored a crush on Protag.
This is post the fire ending for Dead Plate, Rody began working at the company because of an inexplainable pull he felt towards it (Normal Guy feeling the unprocessed trauma and latching on like a leech). He didn’t have to go through the same hiring process as Protag, but he has seen the guy have a breakdown behind some vending machines once so he’s kinda worried about the guy.
He still misses Manon, hates Vincent, but his mental health has improved substantially (in large part due to Winnie, as one of his other coworkers) and he finally realized what Manon was talking about when they broke up. He also always has matches on him now because he realized how close a call it was with Vincent.
June survived, none of her friends did. She went back home, but after literally NO ONE believed her on what happened even though an entire island of people was gone she decided to leave. She got a job to drown out her thoughts, and ended up going through the same hiring process as Protag. She’s smart, so she managed to figure things out in a decent time, but she struggled a LOT with the part of the test that needed her to be ruthless. Mainly because that part had Ryan instead of a doppelgänger.
Rody (from dead plate) was her guide, but he didn’t remember anything from the elevator and he kept acting as if nothing weird was happening during it so she struggled to talk to him after. She did eventually have to trick him to get one of the matches he always carries on him, but he honestly would have just given it to her if it weren’t for the mental influence of the building.
She stayed at the job because of shadow people manipulating her using her friends, but eventually found Protag and Eddie who get what the interview was actually like so she’s pretty content now.
Bok-su has begun struggling with guilt for what she did but she’s fine. Rody (who’s reminded of Vincent through her) keeps giving her weird looks though. She might quit soon because of that. (As if they would ever let her)
Angelica’s there because Forcas wanted to investigate. He’s kept her safe from everything, but the fallen angel that was possessing her got a job offer recently, so he might back off once that thing has been exorcised from her. She’s now learning what it’s like to not be in a cult, so that’s nice.
Winnie was hired post good ending, and while he thinks the place is suspicious and has been prodding a little, he hasn’t left yet because it pays well. He would be allowed to leave if he wanted to because he’s viewed as cannon fodder by upper management, but he won’t because he likes his coworkers and Auggie visits a lot for him.
(Auggie also points out every red flag and why he should leave, but Winnie hasn’t listened to him yet.)
Winnie works under Coworker but he looks up to Eddie (from JCC) as someone who’s actually good at their job and can help him.
Jackpot Crash Course
Basically everything from @jani-crystal ‘s au. He went through the same hiring process as June and Protag, and when he fell onto hard times he ended up on Bet and Forgive with being stuck in a timeloop that starts from after he got through roulette. He gets out eventually (somehow doing so with the ENTIRE bet and forgive cast) and gossips about it with June and Protag when he gets back to work.
Benny’s been trying to get him to quit, but since that’s literally impossible for another decade he just takes what he can get.
