Demon Slayer headcanons | their s/o has a nightmare
Characters: Zenitsu, Tengen, Gyokko
I’m talking about a real bad nightmare, that would make you cry or shiver. This also is gender neutral, because everything I write is gender neutral. The characters I chose are so random… 😆
he has no idea what he’s supposed to do
if you would cry because of your nightmare, he would cry too
you two are a crying mess
after a while Zenitsu would take your hand and squeeze it carefully and reassuring
still doesn’t know what to do…
“S/o, please wake up”, Zenitsu said as he carefully put his hand on your shoulder. He noticed that you shivered in your sleep, so he tried to wake you up with a soft squeeze of your shoulder. Suddenly you snapped out of your sleep and almost bumped your head into Zenitsu’s head. It took you a moment to make out where you are and who is in front of you, while Zenitsu just stared at you with wide eyes. When you finally knew what was going on, he slowly opened his mouth to say something, “Don’t worry, it was just a nightmare.” After that it was silent for a whole minute. Then you looked at him with your gorgeous big eyes…
… and sweet salty tears streamed down your cheeks. Zenitsu was shocked at you crying and started panicking, he thought he did something horribly wrong. “SORRY! PLEASE FORGIVE ME WHATEVER I DID WRONG! I’M BEGGING YOU!”
Zenitsu cried out for forgiveness to you, he couldn’t stand the thought of you being sad because of a mistake he made. You shocked him with a hug in return, that only confused him further. “You didn’t do anything wrong, Zenitsu. It is just like you said, I was having a nightmare”, you whispered softly into his ear. He returned the hug, now that he was sure that it wasn’t his fault and he did so with just as much love as you did.
I feel like he has a lot of nightmares himself
Tengen will hold you in his big arms and whisper reassuring words to you
he’s like a big comfy teddy bear 🧸
Suma sometimes has nightmares too, he’s experienced
A weak light had woken Tengen up, just slowly opening his eyes, he saw you shivering and squeezed against the head side of the bed. You looked like something had startled you out of your sleep and because of that scare, you turned the light on to calm you down a bit. Tengen then, still half asleep, pushed himself up and set down besides you. “You look scared, are you OK? Did you have an unflashy dream?”, he asked while laying his big muscular arm around your waist.
“Yeah…” “It’s OK now, I’m here with you and I will protect you from any danger.”, he answered reassuringly and pulled you closer so he could hug you tightly.
After cuddling with you for a while, he laid you down besides him and turned the light off again. Then Tengen laid down besides you and continued holding you, one of his hands moved up to your head and started stroking your hair gently.
he will not understand what is wrong with you until you tell him
how dare you’re scared while someone as strong as him is next to you 😠
brags about how good he is at protecting
he’s not calming, but at least a distraction
“Hyo hyo hyo… Wake up little human”, was the thing that pulled you out of that horrible nightmare. You were panting and sweating because of it while the colorful fish demon next to you just weirdly watched out of one of his pots. “Why are you looking so shocked, there’s nothing here that could hurt you, except maybe me”, he sort of asked. You looked at him, still a little out of breath, “I had a nightmare that scared me.”
Gyokko didn’t look content about your answer, like something about it annoyed or angered him. “Why on earth would you be scared while I am right next to you!? Do you think I’m not strong enough to fight for you? How dare you!”, he began to confront you about having a nightmare, it was truly ridiculous if you thought about it.
“I- it’s not like that…”, you tried to calm him down, but it didn’t help. He had already cut you off and started talking about how strong and great he was. Gyokko continued doing so for around an hour, until he noticed that you had fallen asleep again, he was thinking of waking you up again and confronting you about just drifting off into sleep while he is talking, but finally decides against that idea.
I finally finished! This took me longer than I thought, mostly because of school work… I hope you enjoyed it!
