the secret to most things is wipes
bad mental health day because of fucked up nightmares but on the bright side! at least the holter monitor can paint a picture of my heart rate patterns during an OCD spiral
i have no idea what's going on in my life im just in charge of the music
we've reached the time of year where if i go to the bathroom at 2 AM i am guaranteed to see a cockroach the size of a hot wheels. what should have been a simple piss turns into a boss fight
my oviraptors had a baby and i named him speedy eggbert. i was showing my partner around the island and introducing him to the (100+) new tames. and when he saw my new ovi he was like "hey. why is that guy called speedy eggbert." i was like. well he's an oviraptor. he steals eggs and is really fast. hence, speedy eggbert. and my partner was like "no i mean. what IS speedy eggbert. what does that name come from?" i explained that speedy eggbert was a late 90s french freeware game that i played a lot when i was a kid, and i've brought it up to him multiple times. and my partner was like "okay. so tell me why that name has become a brain tic for me? i'll just be at work, or eating lunch, or doing whatever. and my brain will just go 'speedy eggbert!' why the hell does that happen?"
apparently i've talked to him about speedy eggbert so much that it's become permanently wedged in his brain as a nonsense sound that gets repeated in the absence of other stimuli. he still has no idea what the game actually consists of.
sharing my new tames now because if our server corrupts again they will be lost
would be a shame, since they all have great stats and lovely colors
what nobody tells you about the holter monitor is IT FUCKIN ITCHY!!!!!!
i don't think they've made another movie since mortal kombat (1995). they've tried but it just simply hasn't happened.
where do you go once you've already reached perfection
do you think bugs in the grass heed our footsteps the way we heed storm clouds
the worst thing about ark isn't the game-breaking bugs, the toxic pvp culture in official servers, the overabundance of paid dlc, or the dog shit power optimization. the worst thing about ark is that half of the dinos are modeled after their species depiction in jurassic park
do you think the people who would build a rent reducer 9000 are the same people who are building houses
Should be noted that a lack of regulation in real estate ownership and purchases makes new construction have little effect on pricing.
Due to "corporate landlordship" wide swaths of new housing locations are bought up en masse by a corporation that can be guaranteed to outbid any personal buyer. Then the corporation rents out all the homes in the development at "market rates" (that they set).
You want housing affordability? Kill landlordship but especially corporate landlordship.
our server is taking another shit!!!!
a month or two ago, my beloved mutated dodo (narcotic nancy) noped into the void for no reason. she was still trackable and her stats were unaffected, but she was tracking at 300 meters below the ground. which i interpreted as just clipping through the ground and noping under the island where she was permanently inaccessible. alive, healthy, but unreachable. then after 3 days, she spontaneously appeared a few meters away from her previous resting point, and all was well.
so...... this time we've had 20 tames nope out of our island. 12 of my dimorphodons (including my personal pet and both of my breeding studs), our bear, our beaver, and now 6 baby tames (one basilo, two megalos, and three archelons).
they're all tracking at the same coordinates, 3800 meters away. i'm pretty sure if we were to go there, they'd track beneath the ground like nancy.
i'm pretty worried about my dimorphos (especially my breeders and my pet) but normally i'd be kind of unworried about this. since nancy came back randomly, they will likely spawn back in too.
here's the problem though. the baby tames that were noped out were ALL in cryo. and if i open the cryo fridge, they're all listed as still inside their pods. but they're also registering on the tracker and the map as being out of cryo, 3800 meters away.
so i tried releasing them from their pods to see if it would fix the problem. but i got an error message saying "Cannot deploy >failed to spawn.<" which....... is an error i've never gotten. basically, the game is registering these babies as un-cryo'd in the nope-hole, so the baby data inside the cryopod is giving it a big "???"
interestingly enough, all of the babies that were noped out of cryo are all aquatic/underwater tames. none of my land-dwelling babies (one argie and 8 hespers) were affected by this glitch. only the aquatic ones. it doesn't explain the bear, the beaver, and the 12 dimorphos. but it's really weird that all the cryo nopes were aquatic tames.
this could potentially blow over and go back to normal in a few days like it did with nancy.
alternatively, this kind of glitch could turn out to be the source of our last save corruption. and potentially cause another corruption. which would suck. if we end up having to pull a save from before this glitch, my friend will lose the max level tusoteuthis he just nabbed.
eughghgh... this game sucks so bad. my friend said "i've heard of this, people say that the longer you have a server the more it'll corrupt over time." and i just. cannot believe they charge monthly for this shit. fix your poop ass game dude. i literally just want to raise dinosaurs
“be gay do crime! but sex is yucky and crime is wrong!” ass website
i get why people don't believe in marriage as a social construct but legally it is the best and easiest way to say "this is who i trust to take care of me when i can't take care of myself" and i'm so glad gay people fought for that right bc when shit gets scary at least i know im in good hands
This is how I convinced my conservative grandma that the gays do also need marriage, actually. My grandad died when I was 4 and I asked her to imagine not being allowed to see him or make decisions for him or be entitled to an inheritance and she got very quiet and conceded the point. Marriage doesn't intrinsically mean anything but as a legal framework it is really, really important
today was fucking exhausting
i didn't realize that my cardio appointment was gonna consist of like 6 different ultrasounds with 4 different technicians. one of them was really nice and we hit it off, so she gave me a bit of an energy boost. but still... 3 hours of laying flat (a thing that i'm not supposed to do), laying on my left side (also a thing that i'm not supposed to do), and holding my breath over and over again for half an hour at a time... by the time i got my heart monitor i was lightheaded and nauseous and covered from neck to toe (literally) in ultrasound goop residue.
and then my mom yelled at me the moment i got in the car đź« yelling at me for making her wait because she's hungry (as she is currently eating a sandwich and i've been fasting for almost 24 hours after several days of undereating from heart medication-induced nausea) like yeah okay whatever. you could have left at any time and gotten lunch (and you clearly did). i could not predict how long the appointment would take, nobody told me and i didn't have access to my phone to tell you it would be another minute. but please do continue to yell at me all the way home because you got bored. i'm very sorry to have interrupted your leisurely lifestyle with important medical procedures. i'm the worst.
anyway. monitor is glued to my chest. looks very cool but is definitely gonna be a sensory blight for the next two weeks.
