almost done with season 2 in my gg rewatch (the like 7th one since i first finished it like two-three years ago) and as much as i have Complicated feelings about jess and where his character goes i completely forgot how much this town just fucking HATES him and how rory is like genuinely the only person who treats him like a human being. i mean her and lane and paris but i think the latter two only interact with him each once? idk can’t remember don’t care but it’s blowing my mind cuz yeah he’s a fucking dick but rory saw right through and still put in the most modicum amount of effort and granted he’s going to be more open to her because it’s clear that he’s immediately attracted to her either romantically or he just sees her as another version of him if he wasn’t so angry. i wish the writers didn’t nuke his character with that scene of him trying to assault rory and then it’s never brought up again HEY THAT WAS WEIRD??

This, the dorky, awkward, nervous Caitlyn is the one she first fell for, the one she first met. And yeah, Caitlyn is complex and can be dark and she's not the same, maybe she never was. But that part of her, the part that stuttered at Vi's flirting in the brothel, the part that tried to offer herself up to the Firelights in her place then sputtered in disbelief at Vi's appearance, the part that earned the name Cupcake, that part is real. Maybe it's tarnished, maybe it's changed, but it's still a part of her. And Vi had missed it desperately.

thinking about taggie o’hara feeling so lonely and upset because she’s spent her whole life taking care of others and never seeing an ounce of reciprocation and although she loves it loves seeing how people light up when she does things for them just once she’d like to be the one being lit up. and her family loves her they do but she’s still just a supporter in their lives instead of an equal (besides maybe caitlin but that’s how sisters are don’t fight me we transcend family trauma) she’s left picking up all of the work while her mother complains and gossips and critiques and her dad is so busy with work and assigning jobs for her to do while he’s gone that he can’t notice anything troubling her unless another man points it out to him. and then here comes this piece of shit wonderful man who sees straight through her and can see that all she really wants is to be taken care of and more importantly, to relax. he lets her breathe and be herself and release control of things around her and i’m just expected to be okay with that? blasphemy.
