I didn’t want to be here today unless it was with you.
My band recently played a few shows opening for Vision Video and Tears for the Dying. As usual, I took many photos at both the Tampa and Orlando shows. Here are some of my favorites.
The promised all cute cat photos post! But with a twist! It’s also portraits of people with their cats!
Sure, there were some intense outliers at the cat show who were dialed in and there for trophies, as you get with any competition I guess, but what I saw more frequently was the many people with so much love for and pride about their cats.
I’m a rescue guy, and I’ll stay that way, thanks, but I love seeing people who love something so much it makes them smile they show their teeth, or just quietly appreciate it to themselves with these obvious rays of joy coming off of them. I love to see how impacted they are on that deep, personal level. It’s a beautiful thing and I love to pause time around that moment with my camera.
Also, yes, those are some cute, floofy cattos.

I have a new flash story out at Dime Store Review. It's about lice. Enjoy!
Mini-Modular Synthesizer System
I am really excited about this mini-system from Folktek. It’s available for preorder at a substantial discount for 3 more days and it’s worth probably 4x the price they’re asking, considering all it does. Check it out.
This is a mini doc I made recently about a popular ramen stall at Tsukiji Market in Tokyo. According to the few bits of information online, this ramen stall opened originally to serve fishermen and fish buyers at Tsukiji, but has increased in popularity due to the mastery they exhibit in creating this simple, fast, and flavorful shoyu ramen. It is an absolutely necessary stop for ramen fans in Tokyo. They open before 5am every day, and continuously make servings of ramen, twelve at a time, until they close just after lunch. Their utter dedication to the art of ramen is clear in their every movement as they continuously line up their bowls, add the ingredients in a precise order, serve the ramen to waiting customers, and then start the process over again.
It has been a while since I did a project like this just for myself. I hope you enjoy it.
I'm your biggest fan I'll follow you until you love me Papa-paparazzi Baby there's no other superstar You know that I'll be Your papa-paparazzi
The Booby Trap was a club with two knocker-shaped domes that you could see from the highway. It wasn’t actually called the Booby Trap anymore. It was open Tuesdays.
On February 16th, Burrow Press’ new project Fantastic Floridas republished my short story “The Little Little Death” (originally published in the print collection 15 Views of Orlando in 2012). This reprint coincided with the anniversary of the demolition of Club Rio, Club Harem, aka The Booby Trap, the actual breast-shaped “gentlemen’s club” in Winter Park, Florida. Enjoy this story about a man with difficult sexuality.
Our debut episode. Thanks for listening. -Dan & Chris
