We have a massive problem with grooming gangs in this country

I wouldn’t be surprised if every city had one and we can’t ignore the presence of men of Pakistani heritage or South Asian heritage within them. A new report has come out into the Oldham grooming gang scandal. We’ll add that to the list shall we: Aylesbury, Telford, Keithly, Rotherham, Rochdale, Newcastle, Manchester…take your pick.
The report apparently unearthed that there was no official cover-up.
Well, it doesn’t matter if the cover-up is official or not, because there’s always one underlying element that needs to be factored in – the fear of racism. The fear of stoking up racial tensions. The fear that people might get so angry at the fact that vulnerable working class white girls are being gang raped on an industrial scale that they’d take to the streets and take matters into their own hands – like vigilante justice.
That fear trumps everything else. The fear of not offending the Muslim community or not stoking racial tensions trumps getting justice for young, child rape victims. The people who the police should worry about offending are the victims, not the vile perpetrators.
The report highlighted the case of one girl, identified only as “Sophie”, who was abused aged just 12, after “significant opportunities missed” to protect her. She went to Oldham police station to report being raped by an Asian man in October 2006. She was told to come back when she was “not drunk” and instead taken in a car by a man also visiting the police station, then raped in the vehicle, before being taken to a house and raped multiple times by five different men.
I personally investigated the Telford grooming gang scandal, during one interview with a victim, her attacker walked past her in the street. One of the Rochdale grooming gang members is allegedly working as a delivery driver, so he could drop a pizza round to one of his victims any day of the week.
While the report said police didn’t shy away from tackling the issue of race, I have to wonder - how far did they push things? I think police are often too afraid of the backlash to actually do anything about the issue.
Stephen Watson, Chief Constable of GMP said: “If you think you have got away with it, you are wrong. And we are coming for you.” It’s too little, too late. The damage has been done. Instead of acting retrospectively, why not act more proactively?
The fact is, from where I’m sitting, our police force has priorities. And, as we’ve seen, in far too many areas of the country, vulnerable, young, working class white girls are right at the very bottom of that list of priorities.

I am REALLY starting to become a fan of Mike and Zara... who knew? I had never paid a huge amount of attention before. That is the cutest photo of them, he has a look of fun and humor inside. As does she. Such a sweet photo of him and the baby. Awwwww...
Meghan is despicable. She is always going to be so, and calling the paps is exactly what she does. What gets to me is Harry most likely knew, is clinging to her like the kicked person he is, and looks straight into the camera. Years later the view seems different and I understand even more.
Whatever hair she was wearing back then looks much healthier. I like the coat except for the moon bump. She should have left her face alone and at this point. I was one who thought she had an attractive and interesting face when they got engaged. I really liked the cute ski jump nose.
My take on the mess. I am guessing Mike is no longer happy Harry is a godparent.
I think that Lena has lots of other close supportive family around her, who she sees lots of, like the Cambridges and Peter and his children. She doesn’t know ginger and won’t miss him. He’s the one missing out.
As for TW and her arrogance in thinking that she could make this about her is par for the course now.

About Prince Harry’s handicap (and horsemanship):
Prince Charles was at one point one of the world’s best polo players. A top player with a Goal Handicap of four in 1981, he was one of only 23 players to hold a four or better rating that year.
Princess Anne competed in the Montreal 1976 Olympic Games and her daughter Zara won the Eventing European Champtionship in 2005 and the World Championship in Aachen in 2006. Prince Philip won the gold medal with his team in the World 4-in-hand driving Championships held at Windsor in 1980.
Harry and William are not even close to any form of world ranking sporting prowess. Harry was described as having some talent but no application. William tried but never exceeded at a high level and did well for a leftie in Polo.
Harry is nothing but a name for them to use at this point. How sad is that shit.
Can I just add that Zara won a silver medal at the 2012 Olympics as a member of the GB eventing team. Sorry to intrude but I’m just bloody proud of her.
