Recomendations for books for someone learning about criminology?

ooooo this is such a cool question thank u!!! tbh I don’t do a ton of crim reading outside what’s assigned in my classes but for my intro class in first year the textbook was actually super interesting & well written!

it was called “in their own words: criminals on crime” by birzer & cromwell. its a super interesting anthology that really focuses on the pov’s of the offenders themselves and it goes in depth on like motives & things like that!
