so i’ve been thinking again and i finally realised why denji had the coat on during the makima fight even though im probably cornplating again

besides the chainsaw made from power’s blood, in the end denji did the same thing aki did during the reze arc. Following his big brother whether he realises it or not, getting up from a pile of corpses pretending to have been dead in order to ambush the enemy.

we haven’t really seen denji wear the black coat through part 1 until this moment, and then i realised that it must symbolise some sort of weight. Like a burden on your shoulders, black like for a funeral, like grief. and denji only wears it after both aki and power are gone. before this, aki wore it, carrying the grief of his family. himeno wore it carrying the grief of her old partners. in a way, all the devil hunters must be carrying some form of burden.

im cornplating though this is just an interpretation i dont know how to explain it for kobeni or the few scenes makima wears her coat i just wanted an excuse to talk about this scene
