Stolen Kiss - Luke Hemmings
That little kiss she stole from me was heaven to me. Her cracked lips onto mine.
Pushing against mine. Syncing together. The way are lips fit together like two puzzle pieces.
The feeling was unbelievable. It was unreal.
The passion in the kiss made me go crazy. Her lips were drugging me. They were craving her touch.
But, I controlled myself. I didn’t want to tire her out. I kept at the same pace. Slow.
She was slowly leaving me. Leaving me alone in this place by myself. With memories that we both shared.
She pulled away from our kiss. Her eyes closed. Regaining her breath. Before I knew it, she was slowly falling back. Her body becoming weaker than before. Her breath shortening.
“Luke.” Her dry and raspy voice called out. “I love you.”
Flat, the monitor went flat. The beeping telling me she’s not here anymore.
She’s gone. She’s on her deathbed.
She knew. She knew she couldn’t anymore. She wasted her breath by kissing me. She shared her last breath with me.
That kiss was everything to me.
She held my heart with that kiss, but she let it go. She stopped. She stopped holding onto it.
She got tired. It was too much for her. She wasn’t strong anymore. She was slowly losing the battle.
No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t anymore.
I can feel my heart crumble into pieces. One by one shattering and sinking.
My soul slowly leaving my body. I disappear like a ghost. Making me a no one.
I don’t want to be a no one.I want to be a someone. But I want to be a someone with her. Not with anyone else.
I caress her cheek. Her once warm rosy cheeks are now pale and ice cold.
I won’t see her beautiful eyes. The way they hypnotized me. Oh gosh, her smile. The way her eyes crinkled when she smiled so hard.
I won’t hear her laugh anymore. That contagious laugh that made you laugh for no reason.
The one thing that I’ll miss the most is her saying, “I love you.”
No more sharing “I love you.” Only half of us is going to say “I love you.”
We are no longer complete. We are half broken.
Tears were rapidly rolling onto my cheeks. Each tear crying out in pain as they see her laying down in her deathbed.
I grabbed her hand and interlocked our fingers together. Still caressing her cheek with my free hand.
“You promised forever.” A sob rips out of my body.
My sobs grow louder and louder as it finally hits me that she’s gone.
“And I stick to that promise.” I lean into her and place a chaste kiss on her lips.
I pull away from her and say, “I promise.”
