The Ball || Valentine & Hummingbird
Looking about the room, Hummingbird couldn’t help but to smile at the vibe. It was soft, warm and as described previously, romantic. The doorway was just a step away, the heel clicking on the marble floor. Her small frame had twisted each and every direction, looking out for the one known as Valentine. The bright pink material had fled to the floor, the fabric flowing behind with each step. Placing the light pink matching mask over her newly deep blue eyes, the tip of her tongue had swiped along her lower lip. Masquerades weren’t something she was familiar with. Although, she did know that keeping her identity a secret was key in this particular event.
Bright, temporary blonde curls had spilled over her face and set on her shoulders. With each turn of her head, he locks had brushed against either cheek. Valentine was unknown. Was the person a male? Was the person a female? Hummingbird was hoping the so called partner was even a person. Stepping into the doorway, the girl couldn’t help but notice a petite girl in a deep, dark red dress flowing to the ground standing lonesome. With a tilt of her head, she decided why not ask the girl if she was the one and only Valentine? Heels again clicked on the floor, approaching the girl. Clearing her throat, she spoke smoothly. “Valentine?”
Valentine glanced upward as she heard to voice calling her alias. "That's me, so you must be Hummingbird?" Valentine raised an eyebrow, glancing her partner from top to bottom. She had expected to be paired with a boy, preferably her boy, but any boy was a general aim. Hey, maybe she'd have fun with this mysterious blonde, she didn't need a guy on her arm to have a good night. "Nice to meet you, I suppose." Valentine held out her hand for the other girl to shake, a friendly smile placing itself on her lips. Friendly wasn't an emotion that Valentine normally encompassed, however tonight she needn't be herself, and in the most cliche way possible - the world was her oyster.
"Would you like a drink? Or maybe we could dance? I think getting to know each other would ruin the illusion." A small giggle bubbled from her lips, and her hands subconsciously adjusted the sweep of her long curls. Valentine was nervous, and so she was showing herself up - not on purpose of course, the newly found brunette had far too much pride to do that.
