I did this Detroit Free Press design for print and web. The story is about the myriad of recalls facing car manufacturers over the years and asks what can be changed. I built the print presentation and then altered that slightly for freep.com

I designed this logo for the 2014 election issues and candidates  the Detroit Free Press is starting to endorse. This icon will run with all the paper's coverage through the 2014 election cycle.

Reading Works

I designed this page and illustration for the Sunday Detroit Free Press. The piece talks about improving your lot in life through education and reading. Reading Works is a partnership of community leaders dedicated to improving adult literacy in metro Detroit.

House of Cards

I designed this Sunday centerpiece using an image from Getty Images and adding the Michigan logo. The type treatment leans heavily on the House of Cards television show, but still uses the Detroit Free Press' font palette.

Summer Movies/Music preview

I designed these illustrations for the Sunday Detroit Free Press. The movie page ran one Sunday and the music page ran the next Sunday. If you line the pages on top of each other you see the entire sun, tying the two weeks together thematically and providing a little Easter egg for readers.
