About 3 yrs ago, we moved into our current home and community... and started the application process to adopt. 

The journey is long but we are so blessed to have so many supporting and encouraging us as we wait to adopt. When we meet the next precious child to join our family, the wait will be more than worth it.

Our holiday weekend is off to a fun start. We were able to enjoy some wonderful family time yesterday afternoon on the lake today fishing.  We can't wait to share our family adventures with more kiddos someday, but until then we are treasuring our time as a family of three. He will be a Super Big Brother.  Everyday he asks when a baby brother (or sister) is coming to our family.  Waiting is hard when you’re 5 (or when you’re 33) but we keep praying and hoping.  Each day is one day closer…

Happy Birthday Project Cuddle, one of the many wonderful organizations we've learned about since beginning our adoption journey.  Their mission is to help PREVENT Baby abandonment through a 24 hour, toll-free crisis hot-line to help girls and women hiding a pregnancy (1-888-628-3353). 

Our family is listed as one of their many rescue families in case a mom decides adoption is a good fit for her and her child.

The waiting can be compared to a tornado. There’s the build-up, the suspense, and the calm before the storm. The tornado may or may not happen. The intensity at which it happens is unpredictable and scary. And afterward, when the storm passes, there can be relief, joy, or devastation. And all the while, there are a lot of voices, much like the meteorologists on television, warning us of all the potential hazards.
