He paused at the bike, frowning a little. “...I need to finish the car up too.” It would be far safer than taking his now-pregnant mate on the back of a motorcycle. “I’ll drive really slow going home. Promise.” Jason vowed, entirely earnest in his words. He got on his motorcycle and handed John’s helmet to him.

“You can call Ryan when we get home, babe. First let’s get you home safe and warm.” He smiled, for once willing to accept the financial aid of someone else- someone wealthy- if only because he knew it was for the best for his small but growing family. He wanted John to have everything he needed, and at least from Ryan he could think of it as a gift for the new baby.

John sat outside the clinic on a bench waiting for Jason to arrive, and practically vibrating with excitement. This was news you could only really give once and he was giving it to the love of his life. He held the papers with his test results in his hand, not wanting to open them by himself. 

The sound of a rumbling motorcycle motor made him grin and he giggled happily as his mate pulled up to the curb.

“I don’t care about the paper either. It’s just...” Jason hesitated a moment, petting his hand through John’s hair. “I want people to know we both chose this. He pulled a blanket over them, wanting to be certain that the sweat cooling on his mate’s skin didn’t cause him to catch a chill, even if he knew they would soon be riding out another wave of John’s heat after Jason’s knot went down. 

And they did. 

Jason lost track of how many times he knotted his mate that night. In bed, in the shower when they tried to take a little break to clean up. On the floor in front of the fireplace. In the kitchen when he was grabbing a bite for them both. The cabin wasn’t huge, but they covered every inch of it together during those days, too swallowed up in each other to even acknowledge life outside of their own little world.

The Beginning of Forever

John still couldn’t form a direct line of words or hold a coherent thought for more than a few moments, his eyes fuzzy and dark with dilation as he stared up at his lover. He knew on instinct that he should be returning the care to the much smaller bit he’d left on Jason’s shoulder but the gentle swipe of his lover…no it’s mate’s…tongue left him shuddering. Slowly the demand of his heat dwindled back down so that he could lean up and swipe the soft pink muscle over Jason’s shoulder. 

“Love you…” The Omega gasped and whimpered as his mate shifted his hips and pushed deeper, a shudder going through him. “Oh J-Jason…my love…my mate…” He sighed happily as the mark was nuzzled, twining his limbs around the larger male’s body and holding him close, his breath stuttery against his warm skin. 

“M’okay…it’s a little sore but…the good kind of sore.” 

“Okay...” Jason murmured against John’s skin, unwilling to be separated by any amount of space until absolutely necessary. He tended to the deep marks on John’s throat until they stopped bleeding, and after that he still nuzzled against the spot for a while still, humming as his nose rubbed against the center and he laid little kisses around the edges. Every inch of John was beautiful to him, but that bite may have been the most beautiful piece of all, because it tied them together in a way that no one could ever undo.

It was ten minutes before he finally stopped prodding at the spot, and pulled back to look at his mate’s face. He brushed a hand through John’s hair, pushing his bangs back and pressing a kiss to his forehead with tender affection. “You’re so beautiful...” He whispered, kissing down the bridge of John’s nose. “And sexy... and smart. So fucking smart... And kind... Everything about you is amazing.” Jason pushed his lips against John’s in a gentle kiss, adoring every second of being knotted to his beloved mate.
