To the person who asked if you shave Skookum- I work at a grooming salon and we actually recommend not to shave dogs with double coats- Samoyeds, huskies, breeds like that! When you shave out that undercoat there's always a chance that it won't grow back correctly and their winter insulation is gone.. Their natural coat is designed to regulate their internal temperature for both the cold and the heat :)

Awesome, thanks so much for the information! I definitely had heard not to shave them, but was a little fuzzy on the specifics, thank you for sharing your expertise :)

Samoyed dogs holds the most perfect driving record out of all animal species. There has never been a case of car accident caused by Samoyed dogs, many of them go into the career field of taxi driver or driving instructor.

Omg, you have no idea how much Jasper HATES being groomed!! He's only sitting like that because he just had treats.

We usually need a minimum of two people if we want to brush him thoroughly. Sometimes it becomes a mini-wrestling match!
