“Even if they couldn’t do it themselves, they still bubbled me, and when the Cluster emerged, I would have been dead anyway!” She countered, though any confidence she had went away as the other picked her up by her suit. “P - priority or not, it was the job Yellow Diamond gave you Jasper. You failed.” She murmured, looking into the other’s eyes. She took a deep breath and sighed. “So… either do what you’re going to do, or put me down. Whether this was a mistake or not, I can’t take it back. The least I can do is see my work through.”

Jasper froze in her words, dropping Peridot to the ground before letting out a sigh. “Says the one helping them build a drill to destroy the cluster.” Jasper crossed her arms before turning her head away. “You’re just like those crystal brats. Protecting earth and stuff...whats the point of saving this miserable planet.” What did these gems see in this planet? It was just another place that would be taken over by homeworld eventually anyways.

          She had simply woken up from a pretty nasty nightmare to find Steven gone; and she had merely approached Jasper to assure herself that she was not the only living thing currently at the barn. When the bigger gem woke up, though, she simply put her hands up to show that she meant no harm and began backing off again.

Jasper looked at Lapis for a moment before letting out a small yawn. “Lapis...What do you want?” She groaned before burying her face back into her arms. “Another nightmare?” Jasper was always grouchy when she first woke up, but she was used to Lapis waking her up. Only recently had she stopped hitting people that approached her. “What was it this time?”

       ♢ It was impossible for Stevonnie to not feel tension. Despite being redeemed in some way, Jasper was just like an untrained animal in a home. She certainly did have any good relationships with fusions. They didn’t know what they might do next. Standing in front of the other, Stevonnie tried not to show any signs of uneasiness they inevitably felt.

           A frown pulled on their lips slightly. They knew how Steven felt when being called Rose. The fact that Jasper remained calling him that would not stand. ♢“Steven is also part-human. The Crystal Gems think that’s part of the reason he’s able to fuse with Connie who’s fully human.” ♢

Jasper looked Stevonnie over for a moment. “Hm....But still, why are you two fused? Theres no need for strength in this situation. Besides, You’re making yourself well...more human in a way. What’s the purpose of it.” She stepped back with an annoyed groaned. “What is with you crystal gems and pointless fusion. I don’t understand why it’s need when theres no purpose. It’s so.....strange.” Jasper really wasn’t trying to be rude about it at this point but it was just the way she had always been taught to think about fusion. Usually you only fused with a gem the same as your own as well.

Lapis wrapped her arms around herself, almost hesitant. This plan wasn’t going to work– Jasper wasn’t the type of gem to trust another so easily, especially after their fight. But she would try her best to appeal to the other’s more rational side that surely existed.

“I can fly us out of here, but you’ll have to clear my name. You’ll have to promise. Just make it happen– and we’ll be home again and free.”

“You tried that last time and look what happened.” Though, it could be possible if Jasper tried to clear her name. “There’s only one problem. Yellow Diamond doesn’t really like to listen to explanations or excuses.” She let out a heavy sigh before crossing her arms. “But fine. I’ll do the best that I can do.”

im so sorry i havent been on lately, ive been working a lot and working on college preps (ontop of a 6 hour power out today rip) ill get to replies tomorrow night i promise

“Good luck.” 

Another scathing comment thrown her way, but Lapis was sick of the other’s whining. But she was the self-proclaimed warden of her prisoner, Jasper– even if their situation was less hostile than before. Malachite had come undone, and Jasper shockingly, hadn’t tried to shatter her… yet.

“There’s a way out, you know. It’ll require your… cooperation.” And trust, maybe.

Jasper froze, looking to Lapis with an arched brow. Cooperation wasn’t her strongest thing, but if it meant getting off this planet then she might consider it. After all what did she have to loose at this point? 

“I’m listening.”

There were a number of things that tended to drive Connie’s anxiety high. Large gatherings of people, for instance, was one of those things. Dancing in front of a crowd was another. Large, formerly bad Gems was up there on the list somewhere, she was sure. In any case, she was more reserved than usual.

“Oh,” she said, quietly, almost meekly. “Um. Okay. That’s… fine.” She sucked in a breath, then exhaled loudly. She tried to stand a little braver. “I mean, his name is Steven, you know, but… I guess if he doesn’t mind you calling him Rose, that’s fine. It’s all fine.” She cleared her throat. “So, uh… do you know when he’ll be back?”

Jasper arched a brow as she shifted her eyes back to the human. “Steven...right.” Jasper still didn’t understand the whole concept of Rose was now Steven. “I don’t know, the crystals took him on a mission or something so who knows.” She was just bitter because they didn’t want to take her. “They left awhile ago.” Jasper stood, now approaching Connie, staring down at her. She took a moment to observe over her. “Are you scared of me?”

“Just listen to me,” Lapis growled, jaw clenched tight. Jasper was a moron– always getting pissy over the littlest things, letting her emotion cloud her good judgement. Fine, she wasn’t one to speak either, but she at least now had the sense to look at their situation with a considerably calmer disposition.

“The Crystal Gems have been monitoring this planet for centuries. All the warps are busted, and the communication hub is down. What’s the plan, huh?”

“Why should I?” She snarled, now crossing her arms. As she listened to Lapis,  she let out a heavy sigh. “I don’t know! But I’ll find a way.” Lapis was right, Jasper had no plan and she didn’t now what to do. She didn’t want to be stuck on this planet full of traitors. He anger faded down a bit as she turned her head away.

Lapis drew back, surrounding herself with a protective shield of water. The other gem looked like she was about to murder her, and despite Lapis’ need to get the last word, she wasn’t about to speak unguarded. 

“Isn’t it kind of pathetic though, trying to prove something to me? I don’t care if you need me or not– I don’t want anything to do with you. But you’re out of options, just like me. Stranded on this worthless rock.”

“I’m not trying to prove anything!” She hissed, still keeping a good distant. Jasper knew strength wise she was stronger then Lapis but she stood no chance against her water. “You can deal with being here all you want but unlike you I actually care about finding a way home!” She didn’t want to face the fact she was stranded here.

Jasper had been sleeping for quite some time, curled up in a giant ball. She had heard some noise by her that she chose to ignore. When the noise got louder she peaked open one eye slightly. “What are you doing...” She growled, obviously grouchy.

Stomping back and forth, trying to blow off steam. Clearly something was bothering her but she was handling it her own way, by being mad. It wasn’t even that she was mad about something, she was just always annoyed. She froze when she was approached. “What do you want?”

Jasper’s voice echoed through the room, her fists tightened in a rage. She was sick of Lapis looking down on her ever since they had split up. Just because she managed to keep Jasper down once didn’t mean it’d happen again. “I don’t need you! I’m stronger then you know!” She snarled, completely enraged at this point. “You should be scared of me!”

It had been some time since Jasper had to work with the crystal gems since she was stuck on earth. But being good was hard when you’re so bad. Most of the time she kept to herself until Steven would include her into things.

She sat on the sofa, arms crossed as she saw Connie walk into the temple. The human kid. Jasper turned her head away as she leaned back. “Rose isn’t here.”
