Sooo... my engine blew... literally and figuratively earlier this week. I just found out a moment ago, but look where I was when I found out! Good thing Lindsey lives in a zen paradise. At the moment, I am at peace with the universe's chaos... but I might be without a car for about a week, rental car pending... since Hynday will only pay for a Hunday rental, and the rental place doesn't have any... First day back to kickboxing since mandatory stay any home order was implemented, and since (i'm pretty sure) I broke my pinky toe dropping a weight on it with some other work out videos... Facebook is reminding me that this day last year I was flying out to see you, and it hurts because I miss you. I said I wasn't going ro do this, but for those who don't know, the world lost an amazing woman this Friday. My grandma taught me to love: adventure when she introduced me to The Faraway Tree Stories, life when she told me of all her own travels and adventures around the world she knew I was to have. She taught us all the importance of living in the moment with your loved ones. "Put that bloody technology away!" she'd say before reminding us exactly why we didn't need it with her around entertaining everyone. She had a love of life and good nature that was incredibly infectious. She could make anyone laugh, even if they tried their hardest to hang onto the clouds that darkened their days. She was skilled in sending the darkness away with her guerilla tactics of joy bringing. I hope I become even half the woman you were someday. I am blessed to have known you, and am grateful you are no longer in pain. I will do my best to be sunshine for the rainmakers, because I sense that is what you would want for me. Thank you for being such a strong positive influence in so many lives, mine among them. The world needs more of you, and my heart selfishly sinks knowing I will never again get to hug you, tease grandpa with you, explore the world with you, or just bask in the glory of your lovely goofiness on this Earth.
