Ahsoka Tano - Early years of the rebellion

I’ve been exploring drawing her with more alien togruta features - segmented lekku, large black eyes.

I like thinking about how humanity or lack there of plays into how we empathize with a character. Of course the narratives we write draw from our own experiences, and I think that’s largely true for ahsoka. Visually she strikes a balance between alien and humanoid that’s fascinated me since I was eight years old. It’s been fun to see how far I can push that alienness in drawing her! I have more sketches that I’ll finish up and post here soon.

Thank you so much! I really try hard to capture that side of him. Like he’s eccentric but also steely and focused. I’ve always really liked how balanced he is in that way, I think it adds to his intrigue and charm. Especially when you can hear the difference between his natural register and when he is in a character. So anyway I’m so so thrilled that his masc side comes through in this piece :’)

i honestly think that the eccentricity is a shield he puts on against the word. Like “you won’t accept me for who i am so im going to be super weird and get rejected on my own terms”

and his more serious personality shines through during jobs (for example his obsessive memorization of plans) and in certain moments with juno (mostly when he thinks juno isn’t watching) like this one

(also this version of nureyev is undeniably extraordinarily attractive. Gets me all fluttery inside the same way his voice does)

LOVE this take!!! Fully agree. Idk why, maybe it’s purely limited by my own experience and a matter of the fandom getting a lot bigger, but I feel like a more masc fan interpretation of Nureyev was more common in earlier days, like when season 2 was dropping? Anyway that’s probably just speculation. Honestly I’ve always been way more inspired to capture Nureyev’s unmasked, authentic being in art, rather than the caricatures he puts on. Like yes, THATS attractive. I love resting states. (Tbh so does juno and I love his descriptions of Nureyev)
