Pentagram is one of the most important design studios in the world. They covers every discipline of design : graphics, identity , architecture, interiors and products. They started their activity in London in 1978, but nowadays they have offices all aroun the world : Austin, San Francisco and Berlin.Pentagram is caractericised by its different form of understanding group dynamics and the organization aspects in a company, since they difer from traditional methodologies. In Pentagram every member is a partner and every partner is the head of an project. Basically is a set of little design studios of different disciplines, that share space, services and great company.Every partner manages its own team , maintains the same client and gets paid the same.
They are recognized globally and have been an inspiration to multiple designers around the world. They have published many books , such as Pentagram Marks, that talks about its corporate indentity and have created more than 400 logos.
Im going to write about one of its latest project, and that is a Book and an exhibition about The Rolling Stones because of its 50" years anniversary. In this case , The company went for an Art Pop look, with vivid colors and eccentric typewriting, as if it was a comic book
I believe that doing it this was must have been a big impact to their fans, because its another way of seeing the whole history of the group, much more interesting and easy to follow. They are bringing fresness to a group that is 50" old in a really interesting and appealing way. Everyone is going to at least take a look at the cover when they see in shops and librarys.
