BMI is so fucking horrifically evil I cant stand it. You can't get healthcare because of an arbitary number defined by fuck all. I hate it

pros of being a NOOB gamer: everyone dresses you up like a girl and teases you

Because I feel like kids of color donāt hear it enough: domestic abuse is not a part of your culture.Ā
A lot of us were raised with the idea thatĀ āits normal for wives/children to get hit! it helps them learnā only white folk donāt get beaten when they misbehaveā.Ā Thatās not true, white people arenāt the only ones who deserve a safe and abuse free environment. Black and brown people can and do have loving families.Ā
If youāre in a situation where you are enduring abuse and people use your culture to justify it, I want you to know that what theyāre telling you are lies.
as someone who studies this: statistically speaking, child abuse (including āspankingā, because all forms of hitting children are abusive) is pretty much equally prevalent in households of all racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds. so yeah, donāt let people use the ācultureā excuse on you, but also, donāt believe others are experiencing it less just because itās less normalized in their culture to talk about it. we all gotta work together to fix this shit.
All the black & latino ppl who joked about Miles Morales saying āWhateverā to his parents, saying that he should āknow he cant get away with that like white kids canā and ālmao did he forget that heās black/has a latina mom???ā
You arenāt better behaved because your parents beat you. āKnowing your placeā did not make you more dignified than white children, you were being needlessly abused.
Got misgendered (as usual) in a grocery store by a kid, and that made me think a bit.
The thing about misgendering is that it's not people being wrong or doing an oopsie like i have G cups.
If you refer yourself to my tits it's pretty easy to figure out that i'm not a guy, and that's the thing like people call me sir they aren't being like. Ah Yes of course a Man (on account of the G cup tits. they're hard to miss)
Like when they see me they see a tranny, and their brain rings the Tranny alarm, and that's why they call me a man. because they know i'm not one and that upsets them because they think i'm supposed to be one.
Anyway yeah, i think thats the thing to remember about getting misgendered, like, a lot of the time, people know. People know, and they're doing it Because they know, because when they see a beautiful girl that's a little clockable, they can only see someone trying to Trick them into seeing a woman when it's actually a man (perhaps even one could say a trap).
I think it's important to remember that it's a purposeful act, both politically and personally, I think it helps to remember that they don't see a guy when they look at you. They see the tgirl that you are and that's what makes them upset.
Remember that when they treat you like that it's because you're what you wanted to be, and it makes them fucking pissed.
Very very frustrating when you get random artists and stuff defending small businesses because they've misunderstood what that means and have decided they're being attacked by evil sentiments like "It sucks how normal wage theft is in small businesses".
Babe if this was an attack on artists specifically I promise you'd know. That one is coming, just wait a lil bit.
in the early 21st-century, the āsmall businessā was a sort of small temple run by a local warlord. Patrons could purchase small trinkets and be granted absolution for the sins of their empire. This was called āethical consumption.ā
a second even cheekier sausage roll has hit the parish council
I saw someone else talking about this and it got me thinking. like I definitely have a better connection to We Know The Devil via having grown up Christian, but it's funny how like half of that game you understand intimately via growing up Christian and being queer, and the other half you understand because of watching US and Canadian TV shows and movies.
which is a common sentiment I've seen from others too! like oh huh, I can fill in the blanks of what's supposed to be a very specific experience via just like......the passive omnipresence of US tv shows.
that's certainly not a flaw of the game, moreso an interesting reflection on how a lot of things people insist are hyperspecific US experiences are actually fairly broadly understandable via either not actually being that unique or via media.
i mean, games have their intended audiences, wktd's intended audience is ex christian queer women from the midwest.
Sorry for relating to a video game and not being a yank? I guess? I will do my best to not analyse things I am not the 100% perfectly intended audience of next time, hurrah I am now officially free from 99% of media. What's the point of this comment besides being condescending and American?
omfg i completely misread your post, i thought you were criticizing it. disregard what i said.
