Kummer Cello Duet Op 22 No 1 C Major - Self Duet - James Rosamilia

Here's a playlist of the complete duet with all three movements. I had fun with this one. Next, on to more complicated repertoire for more/different instruments!

After an intensely busy week I have something new to post at last! Here's the third and final movement of the duet by Kummer op 22 no 1.

As I was walking toward a coffee shop near Harvard Square to get a quick lunch and I noticed this alert little fellow watching people from a high wall over the sidewalk. At first glance I thought it was some sort of coyote. I stopped to take this shot and he continued to survey the street as if I wasn't there. I like how focused the eyes and ears are on sensing everything.

A quick shot from a friends' concert in Jordan Hall at NEC. I think it turned out well despite the incredibly low light. I was also surprised that when the camera is set to "quiet shutter" mode it really is pretty quiet. Even so I decided to wait until the final big chords to be sure that the shutter wouldn't be heard.

Today there was very little chance to take out the camera. Then, to make it that much easier to get things done, my computer did this. The screen has since recovered but the fan is making helicopter noises. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have better luck with the camera.

One photo for today of a busy kitchen in a restaurant in Harvard Square. The guy looking at the camera wasn't too pleased and a bit surprised that I had just photographed him. I like how this photo captured several different expressions of the three guys and a bit of a view of the lady cleaning up in the background.

Not the most productive photo day but I did have a great audio/video recording session for a pianist friend's recital. First two shots are taken from Memorial Drive outside of Harvard Square. It was cold and I didn't have quite enough patience to get exactly the shots I was looking for but I thought these were interesting. I particularly like the building color next to the sky in the first picture. Memorial Drive was either closed or incredibly deserted allowing me to take the 20 second exposure in the second shot from the middle of the street. The third shot is through the balcony railing at an early music concert at Longy School of Music. The bars of the railing made me feel a bit like I was looking through the bars of a cage and into a strange old world with quirky people. -That does summarize the early music crowd at Longy fairly well. It was a great concert with a wide range of music from the 1400's through 1700's from Du Fay and Ockeghem to Bach and Purcell.

A few more shots today, the first is of the beautiful bathroom view in morning light. The second shot was taken as I walked by and startled several little birds as they were eating a piece of bread. I looked back and took the shot as this one was checking to make sure I was leaving and it was safe to go back to its bread. The last picture was taken from the SW Corridor path, a narrow park that runs about the underground orange line through the South End. I liked how the sun was lighting up the different textures.

Here's the first recording! The first movement of a cello duet by Kummer op 22 in C major, 1st movement. I recorded this quickly today and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I haven't recorded duets with myself recently so I expect they will go more smoothly in the future as I get used to it again.

I believe that the graveyard is from the Revolutionary War rather than the Civil War. The battle of Bunker Hill and all. How's that homeschool history curriculum working for you? Love, Dad

Some longer exposure shots of Harvard Square (top) and the Christian Science reflecting pool (bottom) The first one was taken by setting my camera on the base of a statue and photographing some of the action in the square from there. The second one I was using a new cheap tripod. I had mixed results with it but occasionally it would turn out a clear shot. The red reflecting in the water is from the Sheraton hotel sign just above the frame. I like how the colors turned out in these ones. I'll try some early morning shots next if I can get up for them.

Here are some more photos from today.

The first two are taken a little park near Radcliffe Yard in Harvard Square. It was cold and raining lightly.

The last three are taken at an old revolutionary war graveyard also in Harvard Square. I chose black and white to bring out the contrast better and since it was already quite late in the day and the colors were very muted.

Here are the first photos!

The first photo was taken while sitting in the back of the #1 Bus towards Harvard Station looking into another bus that had just pulled up. I like in this one how you can see people in both buses kind of merged together. I noticed later the bus number (2222) and thought that was neat too.

The second is just outside the Longy School of Music. Some lights illuminating the outside of the building were shining through these bright green leaves. Would have been nice to have a tripod for this one.
