To anyone who is interested in why this looks "old": I am using the tetrachrome Zorn/Apelles palette for portraiture!

It's been attributed to various artists throughout the years bc it corresponds to pigments that available since prehistory (chalk, red oxide, yellow oxide, and soot). For my painting this means ivory black, titanium white, yellow ochre, and cadmium red
