Jayden x Maia

Jayden always suffered from falling asleep in new places, you would have think he got used to it based on how he got tossed from one place to another constantly but yet here he was wide awake in the middle of the night. Just wonderful. Now he couldn’t even use sleep to his advantage when it comes to making the time in this place go a little faster. At first he was straight up thinking of waking his roommate up to keep him company but then he realised he wasn’t necessarily in the mood to listen to her complain about how he woke her up. Climbing out of his bed, Jayden was wearing his plain grey sweatpants that ended just above his ankles as thanks to his height, it was pretty difficult to find clothes, trouses in particular that actually fitted him perfectly. Making his way to the little kitchen inside his dorm he realised just about how useless both him and his roommate were, not one of them decided to stock up the cupboards with any food, so his next option was the estates kitchen. The male was making his way down the hallway when he saw a light beaming from his designated destination. Stopping in the door way he spotted an unfamiliar brunette. “Ehem shouldn’t you be long asleep? It’s apparently not a good thing to eat so late at night.” The male commented, shrugging his shoulders as he walked up to the cupboards himself and grabbed a box of cereal pouring the contents of it into a bowl and digging his hand into the bowl before popping it into his mouth. “So princess, you up cause of some hidden issues or just plain and boring couldn’t sleep?”
Sleep wasn’t something that ever came easy to Maia. There was always something that woke her from her slumbers. Whether it was the hard spring mattress that she just lived with or the sounds from the outside of their rundown apartment. But compared to the life she was currently living in, that all just felt like a white noise machine. As luxurious as the bedding may have been at Royal Pains Estate, it just wasn’t quite home. Even if she could get sleep though, due to the time difference she was quite often up late to update Gloria about everything that had been going on throughout her day. It wouldn’t have been that much of a problem if it weren’t for the fact that they had roommates. As to not blow her cover or wake up a no doubt entitled royal from their precious slumber, Maia took her phone with her to the small kitchen. She assumed that everyone else would have been tucked tightly in their own beds sleeping which was why she figured it was safe to talk there. Jumping up onto the counter, she dialed Gloria’s number that was unnamed in her phone. With the phone to her ear, Maia was going over the points of the day. What classes she was doing and whether or not she had spoken to Vanessa’s father. There was a slight part of her that felt guilty when she saw everything that he was trying to do to be involved in his daughter’s life. Then again the world had never been so kind to her, and she was just seizing up the opportunity now to live a life she couldn’t even dream of. “Is he really that bad?” she questioned into the phone before hearing an unfamiliar voice that caught her completely off guard. Glancing up from the spot on the wall she was focused on she saw the brunette male standing in the doorway. “Tengo que ir. Adiós.” Hanging up the phone, the raven haired girl put her full attention onto the male. “And what might a prince of all things be doing hungering for cereal in the middle in that night?” she questioned, a faint smile perching onto her lips. The more she thought about it though, the more the idea of cereal became desirable. Remaining on the bench, she leaned over to the cupboard to grab a box of cereal and decided to eat straight from it. “Something like that,” she purred.
Jayden popped a few pieces of cereal into his mouth and the word prince caught him of guard. He wasn’t used to being called that cause he spent a lot of his life in places that they simply refered to him by his name so being called a prince was something unexpected. Especially since Jayden didn’t see himself fitting the title. In fact he was the complete opposite of what a prince was supposed to be. When you heard the word prince you imagined someone good, someone that appeared in those stupid movies for kids. Not someone with issues and despite the fact that Jayden would never admit even to himself that he has issues he still knew he was far from fitting into the image of a prince. “You see I have a habit of struggling to fall asleep in new places, besides the mattresses in this place really are shit.” He commented lightly, as he popped some more cereal into his mouth. It was far to late to eat cereal with milk, but cereal on its own really seemed like the perfect snack. At least on this occassion. “I’m gonna go with the fact you said something like that regarding the deep rooted issues and not the basic insomnia. Makes the whole thing much more interesting.” He looked over at the brunette. The tip of his tongue grazing over his lower lip to keep it damp as he continued to snack on the cereal every now and then. “I’m Jayden - “ Taking his hand out towards her, whilst he continued to lean himself against the countertop. The dark haired male wouldn’t normally bother getting to know anyone, especially a girl - the only time he would actually want to get to know a girl was when he was planning on taking them to his bed eventually. Yet there was something intriguing about the dark haired girl in front of him. Something that made him want to get to know her at least a little bit.
