Weird Dreams
Aren't dreams strange? Last night I dreamt that I'd moved into a caravan park and one night me and Laura decided to go and knock on the neighbours but they weren't in and the door was open so we thought we'd wait inside for them. Anywhos, we became good friends with them and their caravan was massive, like sports hall massive, and in one of these massive rooms there was like a little kennel, and John (the neighbour) told us that a little goblin named Milling lived in there, and if you left some biscuits in a bowl for him he'd eat them and then leave some teeth in the bowl. Anyways one day we were staying over in their caravan and I woke up, looked through a window and there was this disgusting evil red faced troll with rows of teeth holding a knife or sword and then he stabbed John repeatedly and then saw me watching then started to come after me... And then I woke up. It was just very very bizarre.
ROH on SBG
Ok. I'm 3 weeks into Ring of Honor now, a promotion I've always had the intention to watch, yet never got round to it. I saw their iPPV Best in the World a few months back and was very impressed with the talent and the matches, so now they're on TV I thought I'd give them a go.
I do like the fact that the wrestlers are allowed to actually wrestle and showcase a lot of moves you don't tend to see on WWE or TNA, and also the fact that they're introducing you to ROH with little promos and videos about their talent.
HOWEVER, there's a lot I don't like about it. For starters, they've just been backed by some financial group, and to me the production hasn't changed from what I've seen in the past, and if anything I think its got worse. The camera work and lighting are shoddy as is the sound production. If they want to compete with the big leagues they have to do something about it. Also, we only have an hour a week (or 50 minutes in this weeks episode, I can't remember what it was for the previous 2 weeks, but it was about an hour.) And in this hour they show about 2 matches, but God knows how many adverts promoting their website and brand and repeated promos. If I'd only just heard of ROH and only started watching it on TV a few weeks ago I have absolutely no idea who any of their talents are, what the majority of their stories are and whose good in which championship division or whatnot. Compared to WWE and TNA who seem to have a much better idea at promoting their belts and feuds (even if we don't seem to think so) ROH is just hopeless. I don't know if its the poor production quality that puts me off. Also, their seems to be no running storylines, except for the tag division which seems to be the only thing featured heavily. As far as I'm aware the Briscoes think they're number 1 and wanna face WGTT, but thats only because they've said so on numerous (repeated) promos and highlight clips of their past events. So yeah, all in all, I don't really like the way its set out.
Yes the matches are technically brilliant, but who cares whether Character A beats Character B one week, and then we don't see them for over a month or know what became of them because of the match.
I suppose its because they only have one hour and want to actually showcase the wrestling, but its just not as entertaining as their much richer and better known competition.
I'll keep watching for now, perhaps up until the next iPPV and see where it goes, because I intend to catch a ROH show when I'm in Miami next year, but we'll see what happens.

Raw 17th October 2011
Ok, so I'm watching Raw from Mexico and I've just seen John Laurinaitis in the ring for ten minutes, and he was actually brilliant! His character being a blatant heel but showing that he's doing things for the fans, with the subtle jibes he gets in are fantastic and a lot more than I expected from him since he's been an on air character.
I'm not too sure about JR and John Cena vs Cole and Del Rio, because I think its a bit stupid having the announcers wrestle, it was funny once or twice between Lawler and Cole but now its just stupid.
Ok, quite an all star opener to Raw, John Morrison, Sheamus and Orton VS Henry, Christian and Rhodes (All Smackdown superstars, except Morrison).
Once Sheamus was tagged in, Christians fear and subsequent sprint to his corner fit in well with his character and current storyline and was a nice touch. I also really enjoyed the parts where orton/rhodes ran off backstage fighting and sheamus/christian also, it made their feuds seem like real grudges, however the amount of time it took to show them fighting in the crowd/ramp areas we missed a bit of action in the ring. God knows what happened because even the announces didn't tell us. It was impressive that Henry stayed standing from a flying chuck, and the WSS on Morrison was brilliant showing his force and power.
These Brodus Clay packages are making him look like the ultimate monster. And so they should, he's massive and very impressive.
Why has Eve earned a title shot? I don't understand where this came from. I skipped the match, it was obvious Eve would win if she's supposedly the number one contender, they've got to make it look like she might somehow win, even though she clearly won't.
AHAHAHAHA, R-Truth - "You talk too much, if theres one thing we can't stand, its someone running their mouth" Cm Punk has not yet said a word all night.
(Random Question - Where the hell is Ted DiBiase? He was starting to get over with his feud with Cody, had his title match then disappeared? Has he been on superstars? Meh)

If Punk can single handedly beat Miz and Truth you can guess they won't have a hope in hell on sunday, but I think Miz and Truth will win, with some sort of screwy finish to set up Survivor Series.
Why would all the referees run out when they're 'worried that Miz and Truth are dangerous'?
AHAHAHAHAHA, Dolph Ziggler burying Titus O Neil. Dolph Ziggler has so much charisma and along with Cody Rhodes and the Miz are the future of the company. Swagger got so much heat this week by singing the american national anthem. Very Good. I love that Zack Ryder is getting pushed on raw and his music now starts with his catchphrase like the Miz. =]
WOW - 30 Second win by Ryder on Swagger, I did not expect that! What a squash, doesn't bode well for Swagger though. Ryan looked a bit gangly and awkward coming down to the ring, however his music is still AWESOME!
I don't remember the last time Ziggler got a legit win, however he still comes across as strong, perhaps its because he has the belt, and his ability to sell well and his promos. Mason Ryan showed even more aggression and character this week which will do him well.
Halfway through the Cena/JR VS Del Rio/Cole match and Cena did a dangerous looking tilt-a-whirl style throw to Del Rio... If he wasn't the poster boy he'd be in trouble quite often like Mr. Kennedy was a few years ago.
I have had no idea what the Mexican fans were chanting all night, except for booooooooooo, and once or twice that child like chant for Cena.
JR got the win.... why didn't his Boomer Sooner music play?
Again, Cena looked dangerous, Del Rio landed hard on his arm from the AA.
Cenas attack also seemed very out of character, the match is over, and his opponents already lost, so to make a point he brutally attacks him with ring steps? With Cena having the upper hand here, wrestling logic dictates that Del Rio will in at Vengeance. However, Cena doesn't give up, so theres gonna be another screwy finish, Cena will lose, somehow. They need to make Del Rio credible as champion, and having him lose the championship twice in just over a month would be. ridiculous
Confidence in HHH? Confidence in Laurinaitis?
I've decided to write my random thoughts on Monday Night Raw from this past Monday (10/10/11). No one probably cares, and I am tired so I might repeat myself, but if I want to start 'blogging' and whatnot, then I may as well start practicing and rambling xD
This weeks Raw had the potential to be brilliant and unpredictable. After the WWE hyping that there was only 6 or so superstars remaining, and all of the rest of the superstars, divas, crew and refs were on strike, it could have been radical.
I enjoyed the start of it, they hyped it up well with the camera panning through the empty backstage area, and once HHH was out and talking to the crowd it was good. The audience were very vocal and HHH really riled them up for the potential match with a broom. And CM Punk is still golden, his reactions to being the commentator for the match and wearing HHHs blazer were priceless. I just feel its a shame that they cut off from the match so quickly, if they had let it go for another ten or twenty minutes, and keep Punk on commentary, have it go to one fall, and then if the outside superstars were still refusing to participate, make it an Iron man match between Cena and Sheamus, make the audience believe that this is all they really are going to have. But then Vince came out and got rid of HHH (quite fitting as it was pretty much how HHH got rid of Vince a few months ago)
So now all of the superstars are coming back in... Its a shame that Morrison is apparently leaving soon, as he still has so much potential, but I'm sure he'll be back and be better than before. I also like how the Sin Caras looked wearing their suits and masks. And the other noteworthy thing with all of the superstars coming in is the Smackdown heel stable, Cody Rhodes, Jack Swagger, Dolph Ziggler, Christian, Otunga and Vickie Guerrero (How she's still the most over heel out of this group, I'll never know) But this group of superstars, if left together, watching each others backs and interfering in each others matches, have the potential to become huge, they're all great wrestlers and all of them are decent on the mic, well, except Swagger. So I'm looking forward to see where they go with this.
Also, have I missed out on Jomos new catchphrase of "We're gonna eat your lunch" Where on earth did this come from??!?!? - And Swaggers Doctor Bomb after the match looked awesome! Best one I've seen from him.
HHH asking Laurinaitis if he's 'ever tried picking up his teeth with broken fingers' seemed a bit over the top, its not very PG, it fit his character years ago, but now it just seemed out of place.
Mark Henry is a beast, who would have imagined 6 months ago that he would be one of the best things in the WWE right now? I can't imagine anyone beating him clean right now and he just seems scary, not the fun loving 'sexual chocolate' as we once knew him. But its a brilliant transformation. I didn't like Orton just speaking over the speakers before he came out, it seemed a bit strange. Everytime Orton puts Henry on the ropes for the IEDDT I feel amazed, because the strength he must have to do that is ridiculous. I loved that Henry didn't realise the match was over.
I just remembered, Cody Rhodes is BRILLIANT!!! He just seems psychotic, and its making me look forward to this weeks smackdown and where they go with Orton and Rhodes, although if Orton wins the Intercontinental title off him I won't be impressed.
I tried to skip the divas match, and ended up halfway through it and saw 2 botches in as many seconds. This is why Beth Phoenix has the title, and why no one really cares about the divas.
The JR firing kind of made sense in a way. I think he was only meant to be around for a while anyway, and they need to make Laurinaitis a major heel anyway, so get rid of someone who was only temporary, and get the new GM to say the obligatory 'You're Fired' line.
Ok, I was really looking forward to hearing AIRBOOMs new music, and get to hear Mason Ryans new music too, which I love! I liked AIRBOOMs, but it wasn't as good as Ryans, and the Boom Boom Boom handclap/fireworks just didn't fit. Evidently Jim Johnston has confidence in HHH as he didn't take this week off having 2 new themes to compose! Things I liked about the 6 man tag - Mason Ryan doesn't look like Batista anymore. Dolph Ziggler being very vocal and screaming no when he got put into Ryans finisher. The fact these 6 young superstars are getting pushed. AIRBOOM actually looks like a worthy tag team, I'd have liked to have seen these 2 in the triangle TLC ladder matches from ten years ago. Swaggers powerbomb to counter Evans knee jump thing was also brilliant. Swaggers impressed me tonight. The thing I don't like about this 6 man tag match - Since Otunga has joined this storyline Michael 'Hennig' McGillicutty has just disappeared.
Del Rios moveset is brilliant, his kicks, dropkicks and enziguries are phenomenal, again, its a shame they didn't let del Rio and Punk fight a bit longer as I think they have very similar styles. R Truths 'Remix' was brilliant.
The end of the match seemed a bit botched, Charles Robinson started a 5 count, got to 1 and the bell ringer rang the bell. Whoopsydo. But I hope they do the HHH/Punk VS Miz/Truth match at Vengeance well, because they are 4 very talented superstars and this story is far from over, I just don't want them to rush and finish it like they have most others lately.
So in conclusion, Confidence in HHH? Confidence in Laurinaitis? Who cares... its just a storyline! I liked HHH being COO, but whatever happens happens, as long as the storylines are still awesome by the time I go see Raw next month and WrestleMania when I go, I'm happy!
Also, they still haven't told us who let Miz and Truth into the cell at HIAC? Hmm.....
