Band Instructor Insults

One of my band instructors is a generally mad guy, and that leads to insults to the band when they’re doing bad, and there are TONS of them. My favorites are: *When the Saxophones are doing bad* “YOU SOUND LIKE A BUNCH OF ANGRY BEES” *When people play the wrong notes* “Do you all have the right music, because I’m pretty sure EVERY note yOU’RE PLAYING IS WRONG” *When Percussion plays wrong.* “Hey, how about you try the triangle? That seems to suit you, since you just want to hit things instead of pLAYING RIGHT.”

Attempt at being kind.

This happened a while back, actually. I had a friend who moved to a different school, we’ll call her Marla. So Marla and I talked all the time through Snap Chat and one day her friend added me, I forgot her name but let’s call her Ky. So Marla tells me Ky is her best friend and I take a very kind approach to her, and we casually talk like Snap Chat friends do, I kinda want to stop but I want to make great friends with her. Well this girl is like me, she’s self deprecating and doesn’t like her looks, and she sends me some website that you can send messages to a person (The message would be sent to Ky) and I think “Alright, I’ll just say something stupid like ‘hi’”. Well I say hi and she instantly responds “Don’t say something like hi, say something meaningful!”. I decide to try and be nice and I send her this exact message on it: “Stop saying you look bad, you look good.” Now I call half my friends at school beautiful and stuff like that because I’m a kind person (not really) so by saying ‘You look good’ I thought it’d be ok.  Well, time goes by and we continue talking (She doesn’t respond to my ‘you look good’ message) and soon enough I make up some stupid story to leave, by taking a nap, before I suddenly got a message from MY GIRLFRIEND. She says “Hey, someone said that you were flirting with another girl?” And putting two and two together I realized that Ky took that the wrong way. I ask my girlfriend the name of the person sending it, and to an even BIGGER surprise of mine, MARLA sent it. Alright, by this time I was fed up with being kind, so I went to Marla and said “Hey, you know I call all my friends beautiful, this isn’t flirting.” And Marla says something like “OH, I’M SORRY, DID I MAKE YOU FEEL UPSET FOR TRYING TO CHEAT ON YOUR GIRLFRIEND?!” And I wanted to die. I went back to my girlfriend and we talked for a couple of seconds (She knew I wasn’t flirting) and figured out that Ky was behind it all.  Making a long story short, people should understand that platonic compliments are a thing.
