So, today was the solar eclipse and I bought solar eclipse glasses because I thought it’d be cool to see the eclipse since it’d be a near-total eclipse from where I live. And it was cool to see, but what was even cooler was being able to share the eclipse glasses with people who didn’t have any

There was a family of three (husband, wife, and very young child) who were all excited to be able to actually see the eclipse

There was a maintenance guy who said the eclipse was “so doggone cool” and that seeing it made his day

There was an elderly lady that said this was now the third eclipse she’d been able to see in her lifetime

And there were two younger guys who were both grateful to be able to see the eclipse after all

So I guess the moral of the story is that special events aren’t always special because of the event. ‘Cause honestly, seeing the eclipse was cool, but being the reason for some small joy in someone else’s life was so much cooler
