Jason didn’t ‘Know’ Raven’s family, he didn’t think anyone really did, because while there was this general sense of she had family no one knew them beyond Trigon. But that was because Trigon was a fucking DICK who tried to destroy the Multi-verse.
If there was a club for Daddy Issues, he was vice president, and Raven was president; he was certain interdimensional demon who sired you to destroy the multiverse trumped an emotionally constipated billionaire vigilante. Just saying, Rae so won the daddy’s issues, and it made for pretty hot sexy time; Jay didn’t think he had a Daddy Kink, but Rae was proving to be… Rae, and the vexing demoness was an incubus when she wanted something, a witch when she was in a mood, and an innocent, gorgeous woman when she was just being herself; like Disney Princess level innocent. He wasn’t one to think Disney Princesses were hot (that was a lie, he had crushed hard on Belle for YEARS!), but Rae was a mother fucking Disney Princess.
He was getting off topic, but could one blame him!?
He had been dating Raven for two years already and this was the first time he was going to be meeting his first serious girlfriend’s family! A family she kept so far underwraps that no one except for Victor Stone; who was like Rae’s family, knew about them. Oh sure, everyone knew about Raven’s demon brothers, and her demon family; hard not to know them when they rolled into town. Four glowing eyes, and foul tempers were traits predominant in Rae’s family apparently. Honestly it made him look like a saint in comparison.
Shaking himself of the thought he pulled onto the dirt road not marked near the rez in New Mexico; according to Rae this was the road he had to take. It was a long stretch of red dirt; and the radio station was country music, Jason had his window’s down as he drove because without windows he was sitting in a sweat box; the AC had given out Cuba; there was a town named Cuba in New Mexico. No it didn’t have Cuban coffee; and by Jay’s definition it wasn’t even a town, but according to the sign it was. He had passed through Farmington, New Mexico and he didn’t know if he was on the Navajo Nation Reservation; he thought; he wasn’t sure, there weren’t any fucking signs! Where the fuck was he!?
Jason blinked a few times as he drove and eventually found himself before a two story ranch house.
It was a stunning house, which surprised him as he pulled up. He spotted Raven immediately, and she looked like she was at peace and at home, her smile was bright as she talked to a man who looked like David Bowie, while a woman who looked exotic and dangerous lounged on the porch sipping a sniffer. There were three kids in the yard, two were playing while the baby was toddling after the older pair. A very old man sat on the porch beside the dangerous looking woman, while a rancher looking cowboy was working near a barn out post. Slowly he got out of his car, looking around.
“Jay!” Raven waved at him and she swatted the blond man as she walked down the steps towards him.
“Hey little bird,” he caught her in a tight hug.
“So good you can come, Vic’s bringing both my moms soon,” she said as they walked to the steps of the house.
“So this is the young man my granddaughter is infatuated with,” the tall blond purred menacingly, he had to be David Bowie or something. “Lucifer, Lucifer Morningstar,” he held out his hand. “King of Hell.”
“Jason Todd,” he answered as he shook the hand. “Escapee of Hell.”
“Play nice Luci,” Raven ordered as she leaned on him. “He’s the fallen archangel and twin of Michael,” she whispered.
“For real!?” Jason sputtered.
“You did not think Raven inherited Trigons good looks?” Lucifer demanded haughtily. “Oh, and your grandmother is apologetic about not coming but did not think it wise given her previous encounter with your lover.”
“Huh?” Jason raised a brow at Raven then.
“My grandmother on my father’s side is Death,” she murmured.
“Yes, Death, you know, the Endless, she’s got many personifications, but she is Death,” Raven pressed.
“That’s terrifying,” Jason admitted.
“And this is my mortal grandfather, Alan Roth, he’s a survivor of the Holocaust,” Raven turned him to the weathered old man on the porch.
“So you’re the young man brave enough to date my granddaughter,” the old man mused with a mysterious twinkle in his eye.
“Be nice Opa!” one of the kids called out. Jason turned as the kids bounded up the steps, smiling. “I’m Mary-Beth,” she said. “That’s Billy, and that’s Jessica,” she pointed at the boy and baby in her arms.
“Raven, you haven’t said what he’d eat,” the door opened and a beautiful, stunning woman with black hair and bright blue eyes walked out. He could see a lot of resemblance between her and Raven.
“Jay, this is my Aunt Alice, and my Uncle Jack,” Raven filled in then.
“I’m good with anything, ma’am,” he said swiftly.
“Oh, in that case, it’s a pleasure to meet you by the way, Harley and Ivy are so proud of you,” she smiled brightly and he blinked a few times.
“Harley and Ivy?” Jason looked dumbly at his girlfriend.
“Yeah, remember when I knew the system as well as you?” she asked warily.
“Harley and Ivy were my foster moms when I was in the system in Gotham, Vic’s since been adopted by them too,” she smiled brightly. “And this is my family, Jay.”
“Break her heart, human, and I will take pleasure in breaking everything about your soul,” he turned at the exotic woman who now stood beside Lucifer with a sharp, wicked smile on her lips and half her face was a decomposed, twisted mess.
“Maze, play nice, if he does break her heart we’ll both take pleasure in his return to Hell, no one really escapes us after all,” Lucifer smiled just as darkly.
