Happy GIRLY Father’s Day!
I simply wanted to say Happy Father’s Day to whole slew of guys right now who are reading this because they share with me in being girly boys while also being fathers.
If there is one thing that I have impressed upon my sons and daughter, it is that every person is valuable regardless of how they think, act, dress, look, etc. etc. My children understand that me being a father is not a role of asserting masculinity in the world or upon his children. They know this, not only because I teach them this and exemplify it, but because they see without me telling them how a man can be feminine and still be a good father and husband to their mother.
I don’t say this to toot my horn. I say this because I know it’s possible to be a father and also be girly. It’s not impossible. It’s not hard. It’s definitely not unnatural.
So, for all of you girly guys who are fathers, I want to say, Happy Father’s Day. But I also want to say, “Happy Being You” Day.
Slainte! (because we all know what my libation of choice for today will be)
