Me: Mass Effect 2 and 3 were great in their own right but Mass Effect 1 was just on a whole other level.  It had an atmosphere that I felt was lost in its sequels and was more of a traditional RPG in the vein of KOTOR. While I feel ME2 and ME3 act as parts one and two of one game, ME1 (while definitely open-ended) functions as its own finished story. Also the music and setting is very reminiscent of nineties sci-fi while I feel the sequels tried to feel more modern.
