On my first day as a Korean teacher at an elementary school in the South, one of the students asked me innocently “Are you Mulan?” I laughed it off.

Today when I was giving out candy to local kids, I got asked if I am in the Squid Game. Kids are so blunt and that’s how I know the way Asians are portrayed in the movies are so important. I wish to see more representations and hope my child to grow up watching faces that looks like him on TV.
