~ New member of the team ~
They adopted a dog after it followed Bob back to the tower because he gave him food.
Bucky insisted that the dog needed a "less chaotic and more mentally stable" family to take care of him, but after seeing Bob's, Yelena's and Ava's faces, he decided he would look for someone who wanted the dog and, if he didn't find anyone, they would keep it.
Everyone in the team grew fond of the dog in no time. Walker, who insisted that "pets were too much work", would be found playing lively with it. The puppy was the only one who matched Alexei's spirited personality. It would cuddle with Yelena and Ava during "girls night". Bucky now had someone that would willingly wake up before 10 a.m. and make him company while he made breakfast. And it was Bob's first dog, so he was happier than ever.
The first day they got it, Bucky called Sam and told him if he could ask all the people he knew if they, by any chance, wanted a white and very energetic puppy. Bucky received many calls and messages from people interested in adopting the dog.
"Someone already adopted him, sorry" is what he responded every time he thought that the people interested in adopting the animal were not good enough.
Bucky didn't want to admit it, but he loved that dog just as much as all the others in the team, and it was obvious that it made them much happier. So after two weeks of "arduous search" for a new owner and failing miserably - or at least that's what he decided to believe- the super soldier finally told everyone during dinner that the dog was staying.
If you don't want to get too attached to an animal, you must not give it a name. So they were all now sitting in the living room looking at the unnamed dog that was supposed to be already in a new home with two parents and their beautiful children. Instead of that, the dog was surrounded by a bunch of emotionally and mentally disturbed people, too attached to each other but also too proud to say it out loud.
- It's too lame. What about Max? It's a classic - Walker responded while he crossed his arms behind his head.
- Let me guess, your mom said you were very creative Walker -Bucky said. John only shrugged his shoulders, he was already used to being bullied by now.
- Come on, guys. It has to be something powerful, something that represents us as a team. And he will be our mascot! - Alexei got up from the couch and started walking while moving his hands, talking vigorously about pride and honor amount other patriotic stuff.
Yelena rolled her eyes and looked at Bob who was sitting on the floor with the dog playing in his lap.
- What do you say, Bob? Got any ideas? - Yelena asked him since he was playing with his sleeves, which usually meant he got something on his mind.
- Well, I have a name on mind, but I don't think you'll like it.
- Come on, Bolt, give me my boot! -Walker was chasing the dog while he run all around the tower, but those morning runs with Bucky had given Bolt a lot of condition.
Bob named the dog after that Disney movie he remembered watching a few times when he was younger.
A representative name is what they were looking for, so the āNew Avengersā agreed that Bolt was just the perfect name for the new member of the team once called āThunderboltsā.
Maybe they were not the exact type of family a dog needs, but they certainly needed and loved that one dog, their dog, more than anyone else ever would.
I donāt know if someone had thought of this before, but I had a lot of fun writing this (it turned out longer than I expected lol).
