June was GRATEFUL that she finally had the day off to herself, this work week proving to be extremely tedious and disappointing, all of her new cases TOUGH to solve. The Austin heat was hot but it stood NO chance against the air conditioning in her apartment, grateful for the cool air but even more grateful for the cool drink within her hands. Her brows furrowed when she heard someone knock on the door, knowing that it wasn’t like she was expecting any company. MAYBE Luis forgot his keys. When she opens the door, she’s surprised to see Josephine, offering the other a grin, “Hey Josephine!” Knowing they hadn’t talked MORE than a couple pleasantries, usually having to head out to work before getting the opportunity to delve any further. “No, Luis has yoga right now. He should be back in like…twenty minutes or so. If you wanted to wait for him. I know he’d be happy to see you. Here…I tried making a new cocktail. I’d love to have your input! I swear it’s not POISONOUS, I’m just…shit at mixing drinks. Good thing I never pursued my dreams of being a bartender.”
As always when things didn’t quite go the way she had planned them she got a little awkward, being pretty sure she was probably annoying the blonde or disturbing whatever she was doing but the bright grin on the other woman’s lips said otherwise and hesitantly Josie gave her a smile back, listening to what she was told, a little overwhelmed but glad she wasn’t seen as an unwanted intrudor. “I’d actually love to wait and thanks? I mean... you got me pretty wary about this drink now. Maybe you should not tell somebody who is supposed to try it that it’s bad beforehand.” She replied with a nervous glance at the glass in her hands. “Aside from the fact that if you were a bartender you’d have to ask me for an ID and would quickly realize that I’m not yet at legal drinking age. Really, being a bartender is a complicated job.” Grinning a little at the blonde’s direction, she finally decided to be brave and give it a try after all, taking a little sip out of the glass. “Well, it’s... interesting for sure.”
