“Mmm, that’s delicious,” Jessica hummed with a flirtacious smile.
faustindelaney:
“Whatever floats your boat.“
“Right, well. I’d better go. I’ll see you around probably.
jasonlongbottoms:
“You. There’s something on your face, it’s distracting.”
“And you decided not to tell me because?”
nichclaswest:
“Yeah, any time,” he said with a short nod and smile, not sure whether to hand her the books or place them on the common room coffee table, so instead he sort of held them out awkwardly in her direction.
Jessica took the books, forcing another smile, knowing she couldn’t invite him to carry them up to her dorm without the staircase turning into a slide, “Thanks,” She paused. She still didn’t know what she could use him for, “Hey, maybe we could hang out some time. I’d really like to get to know you better,” She suggested, sounding much more genuine than she felt.
victciresweasley:
jcssicadclacour:
Jessica rolled her eyes, “Whatever. I certainly have better things to do than have this conversation.”
“Sure thing, Jess. I’d hate to waste your precious time,” Vic said teasingly. “Have a nice day.”
--
faustindelaney:
“Well that’s the most cliché thing I’ve heard all day,” Faustin replied with a roll of her eyes.
Jessica shrugged, “I’m a walking fortune cookie,” She paused, “But if I had it my way, chaos would outweigh perfection by a whole lot.”
nichclaswest:
“Well then it sounds like it all turned out for the best.”
“I suppose,” Jessica replied with a shrug, still smiling as they reached the entrance to their common room. She answered the riddle with ease and walked in. Then she turned to Nicholas, “Thank you so much for helping me with my books, Nicholas,” She said sweetly, batting her eyelashes.
victciresweasley:
“You realize I can multitask, right?” Vic commented, raising a brow at Jessica. “It’s not a waste of time in my opinion, but you can think what you want. Just please keep it to yourself. You’re not going to change my mind about snow, Jess.”
Jessica rolled her eyes, “Whatever. I certainly have better things to do than have this conversation.”
faustindelaney:
“As much as I agree – anything is better than total chaos.”
“There’s a beauty to chaos,” Jessica replied, “And the right balance of chaos and perfection is what makes the world the way it is.”
nichclaswest:
“Oh really?” he remarked. “That’s… um… yeah. Is Beauxbatons a nice school though?”
“I mean it’s full of snobs and walls have ears and eyes and probably noses too but I suppose it was nice architecturally,” Jessica replied, her tone soft and sweet. She was even beginning to believe that she was a nice girl, “Hogwarts is much better. You get the occasional judgement but it’s much more my taste. The right about of wild and chaotic,” It wasn’t entirely a lie. In comparison to her former school, Jessica loved Hogwarts. But that wasn’t to say she loved it when thinking about it on its own.
victciresweasley:
“I can’t be wasting my time if I’ve already finished the assignment. Besides, it’s only been like five minutes.”
“Five minutes you’ll now never get back, what could possibly be interesting about snow for longer than thirty seconds? Even without assignments, you could probably do something better than staring out the window.”
faustindelaney:
“I haven’t spoken to my mother in like four, but for very different reasons to yours,” she muttered softly. “But that’s a shame you and your mother aren’t close. It’s also a shame we don’t live in an ideal world where it would be easy to just totally look past all your differences and get along. I’m sure a whole squadron of Hufflepuffs is waiting around the corner to jump me at any moment for saying that,” Faustin added with a light chuckle.
“I’m sure you’ve still spoke to her more than I have with mine,” Jessica replied. hearing the girl’s mutter, “If the world was ideal, it would be incredibly dull. Perfection gets boring after a while.”
cunninglilith:
“I didn’t expect moving stairs. I’ll take spiral staircases any day. What’s Beaxbatons like?”
“Big, much bigger than this place and grand and delicate and full of snobs.”
nichclaswest:
“New here?” Nick repeated, “That explains why I don’t recognize you. I’m Nicholas,” he said stretching out his hand for a shake with a smile. “Where did you transfer from?”
“It’s certainly nice to meet you, Nicholas,” Jessica replied with a smile, “Beauxbatons. But it wasn’t really a transfer. I wasn’t allowed back there.”
victciresweasley:
“Sure, it might just be snow. But it’s beautiful, Jess. Can’t I appreciate that?”
“If you want to waste your time doing that, then sure.”
nichclaswest:
“I um, I– really? That’s not very considerate of them,” he said, obviously nervous around the girl. “Of course. It’s no trouble, really. Any time.”
“I’m glad about it now, means I got to meet you,” Jessica replied with an innocent smile, “I might just have to take you up on that any time thing,” She said teasingly but knowing full well that she was serious, “I’m headed to the Ravenclaw tower, I’m guessing you’re one too considering your tie. I’m Jessica, I’m a fifth year but I'm new here as of September.”
faustindelaney:
“Sounds like you two are inseparable,” Faustin said in a rather sarcastic tone. “Either way, it’s really nice.”
“To put some perspective, I’ve exchanged more words with you in the last five minutes than I have with her in the last five years,” Jessica replied, sensing her sarcasm and ignoring her compliment.
