I’ve been thinking about the Lauriet family for a hot minute now so I may as well share my thoughts and headcanons.
I don’t think it’s thought or mentioned enough that Reuben literally CUT HIS EARS to hide his eleven features and the fact Cyril literally says ‘what NEEDS to be done’ WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT HAD TO BE DONE??
Like, Imagine Faustin who was raised around high class elves and being all egotistical pricks.. finding who I headcanon to have been his secret lover having cut his own ears to fit into society. Extra points if Faustin actually freaks out because.. WHO WOULDNT??
Faustin who was literally taught to be proud of being attuned and being raised in a community where being an Elf is like, the highest form of power.. AND THEN HIS LOVER/CRUSH OBVIOUSLY NOT HAVING THAT SAME COMMUNITY AND MAKING SUCH A PERMANENT CHANGE LIKE THAT!!
I said I’d mention Cyril too so here’s some child Cyril. Even if Cyril is more like Faustin in terms of ego(at least before meeting Rival.) just imagine Reuben trying to ensure Cyril doesn’t do the same things that he did and to be proud to be elven.
Also I just want to add that Cyril probably receives comments like ‘Oh! You’re just like your father!(Faustin)’ A lot.. mainly due to his ego and personality but I headcanon also his looks.
And Cyril absolutely HATESS that fact and those comments because he knows that they’re true. He just hates that despite acting like Faustin he can’t seem to keep up to the same pace as his father for whatever reason(got that headcanon from audio 2)
I’m really hooked on Cyril’s relationship with Faustin because I’m a fan of all the angst and drama behind it but also.. Imagine when Rival got a few compliments from (I believe both?) of Cyril’s dads.. (First one being in audio 7 and while I can’t find it, I swear someone else complimented Rival’s work once.) And just.. Low-key hating Rival for that.
That head canon is more for before Cyril and then started crushing on each other but still, Who wouldn’t dislike the person that their parents talk so highly about?
Okay, this is an edit but I’m going through Audio 13 and Cyril basically (or implies) That Faustin praises or gives attention whenever he(Cyril) is showing success and- GOD MY HEARTTT.
Imagine just as a child Cyril having two parents where one is overly paying attention to him and the other is just wanting him to be successful and ‘worthy’ of his praise 😭😭
God. I love just ranting like this. I might do another one once I’m in the mood to hyperfixiate on another character.
