Long time no post losers!
Just a quick update. I did get into WGU and it is moving along smoothly and professionally. I am gearing up to smash the f out of my portfolio so I’ll actually start using my Github. And polishing up some of my skills. I’ll be posting here often on all things coding. Woot Woot!
Raisin the Important Topics
If I would have lived my life based on not wanting to appear different from my peers. I would have never pursued web-development I would have became an L.P.N. or stayed a C.N.A. like everyone else I know. Not that those aren’t needed and noble professions but I know I would be miserable if I did that with my life. What finally made me decide to truly learn about myself and what I liked so I could discover my passion was that fact that the fear of not pursuing my dreams became scarier than the fear of being rejected by those around me. And of course when I announced I was interested in web dev 5 months ago and began self-educating all the nay-sayers came out of the woodworks to project their fear of failure on me. Saying J.D. you can’t do that you’re a girl, J.D. you can’t do that you didn’t finish college, J.D. you can’t do that you have webbed toes. Well these webbed toes were made for coding and that’s just what they’ll do!
Why be in a bunch of grapes when you can be a lone raisin?
So I have been going back and forth on if I should go to Western Governors University or back to my old college Wayne State University “Home of the endless soup bar”. And I believe I have finally decided for sure on Western Governors. Even though I do love soup I feel like at 27 years-old WGU is better for my needs at this juncture of my life. Now the question is do I pick software development or computer science for my major?
Furst Poost!
Happy first of November peanut heads and welcome to my blog! I have a question for you. If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, do I still have to go to work tomorrow?
