Meet The Fool The first card in The Courtly Beasts Tarot.
Our Fool steps out into an open meadow, a vulnerable position compared to the shelter of the forest, but he strides forward anyway. He continues ahead from the braided path into unknown territory. His accompanied by a lark, serenading him on to new beginnings.
I’ve had this deck in the works for a couple of years now, but I’m finally in a stable enough routine that I can devote time and energy to it.
It’s intended to be a deck that draws loosely from the imagery of the classic Rider-Waite illustrations, but creates a world of its own through the use of anthropomorphic animals cast in the archetypal roles, historically inspired costume, and lush environments. Each card is another step in the journey.
I’m giving Patrons a look at my working process, as well as early access to the full illustrations before I share them publicly.
I have The Fool available for everyone on Patreon as a bit of a preview post!
Livia Marin, Chilean born artist imagines a whole new world for cups and teapots in her series of ceramic Nomad Patterns. The artist deflected by making ceramic bathing, a very surreal way, in flasks covered and sagging patterns. A fabulous clash between tradition and modernity.
Livia Marin has reshaped service porcelain teapots and cups by giving them a molten appearance … all without damaging or changing the patterns inscribed on objects!
A Little Sweetie is a doll I made from a secondhand porcelain jester I bought for $7 and a skull that my girlfriend found for me at an abandoned house in the woods. She is really actually alive and can move around. She is polite but mischievous. You love her now.
