"Want to try sneaking into the movie theater?"
it's the third week in a row that jean grey has found herself in this particular video rental, aptly names video rental. she's smart, she offered to return any tapes anyone back at the mansion had laying around. this is sort of her little time away from it all. running to something, running from something. making her way into the city. taking the bus, people watching. it is sometimes exhausting. cities are loud, and now the thoughts are white noise. but they are in the end noise.
she feels silly, maybe even like a stalker. like god. get a hobby, instead. she finds herself here. opening the door with her bag in hand. a bunch of movies she did not see. save for one. a week ago, like clockwork. at the desk now as steve seems to take in all the movies as a return. the question takes her by surprise.
jean grey. perfect girl, always one step ahead of danger. she wouldn't dare, she's too square. but this seems. it's different, alluring in a way that makes her giddy. green eyes shine, then she sort of chuckles. "i didn't know you were such a bad influence, steve." it's harmless, she isn't upset. she's thrilled. "-i've never snuck into a movie theather before." jean isn't rejecting him. she's testing him, trying her best not to take a peak into what he's thinking. what he's feeling.
"you do that often?" with other girls. she means to ask. it doesn't get there, she just leans into the counter. cheek resting on her hand.
