Shaylee watched Lila in silence, but took particular interest in the lightsabers she now clearly revealed. So her intuition was correct, she did have the Force. The idea of finding one who wielded it was comforting and though she had this advantage over her opponents, Lila was foolish if she thought she could escape without an additional body guard.
"You’re going to need some help," Shaylee said after a few more moments of silence. "You cannot fight the Empire on your own."
Lila slung her bag over her shoulder and gripped her suitcase. “I know I can’t. I’ve never had a reason to want to fight them. I’ve no reason to oppose them.” She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, trying to gather her thoughts.
After a moment of silence, Lila looked back at the girl. “Who are you?” She asked suddenly, eyes opening. “I mean… Who are you really? Most people would stay out of an issue like this, but not you. You’re here, willing to get in the middle of it to help me. You don’t know if they had a real reason or not, if I’m a danger to people or not. So tell me, who are you really?”
Shaylee swallowed, taking in the silence that lingers after a vulnerable question. Should she reveal herself to someone she knew so little about? Should she reveal herself at all? Even if Lila was trustworthy, would it be safe for her to know that a Jedi still existed? She stood for several long moments, pondering these questions. It was true that Shaylee missed her Jedi days before the Empire took over. She missed fighting for the innocent. She missed standing up for justice. She missed being a Jedi. But was it possible anymore to fight for any of that and still remain hidden? The more she analyzed the situation, the more hopeless that answer became. She would have to use the Force. She would have to use her lightsaber. She could not stay hidden forever.
With a long, deep breath, Shaylee began her reply. "My name is Shaylee Dantora, a Jedi Knight of the Republic. What I told you is true, I am a native of Naboo, but I live here now in hiding. Years ago, I fought in the Clone Wars and served the Republic and the Jedi Order faithfully along side the army of clone troopers. I was one of the few Jedi that escaped Order 66, and now I must remain hidden from the Empire, who will destroy all signs of existing Jedi. My duty has always been to serve those who are in need of protection. I saw that you were in need of protection and so out of instinct, I responded."
Shaylee ended with another breath and paused to assess the woman's reaction. It could not be taken back. Her identity was revealed. She hoped now that she had made the right decision and that her powers and talents could be used again for their former purpose.

"I have a ship," she replied as fumbled through a pouch for money. "It’s located in the outskirts of the city, so as not to draw attention if I needed to stay for a longer period of time." Shaylee placed the money on the table and stood, feeling more than ready to leave the cantina. "And as far as the clothes, if I have to use my lightsaber I don’t think a different wardrobe is going to fool anyone. Unfortunately, you may have to be the one to change. I have more currency if you need it."
Andreanna already wasn’t wild about this impromptu cooperation, but the thought of going without the worn red-painted armor immediately upped her discomfort. Though years of diligent training made her resilient, her physical strength was not spectacular by any means, and she was acutely aware of that fact. She relied on her armor to take the blows for her, then using an opponent’s weight or momentum against them, finishing by tripping them up and pinning them or using joint locks to subdue them. Without her armor, she was vulnerable.
"We have a word for armor: 'beskar'gam.' It literally means ‘iron skin,’ emphasis on skin." She tapped one lightly-curved chest plate with her knuckles. "I don’t need money. I have extra clothes on my ship, if we can stop."
The thought of accepting money from a Jedi left a bad taste in her mouth. She wasn’t sure whose hands had ended her brother’s life, but it likely wasn’t these. The other woman looked too young to have been at Galidraan, and obviously didn’t know about Fett’s past encounters with Jedi.
She slid out of the booth and picked up her helmet, somewhat stiffly. “After you.”
The Jedi nodded her head in gratitude before turning and walking towards the cantina entrance. A small smirk was formed on her lips, a look of patience in her eyes. "This is going to be a long day," she thought.
She walked with quick steps, being sure to get ahead of the woman. The sight of a Mandalorian and Jedi leaving together might draw ever more attention, something they really couldn't afford at the moment. Not to mention, there was no telling who was a spy and who wasn't.
The Jedi stepped outside the cantina and instantly began scanning the surroundings. So far nothing seemed suspicious and no one seemed to be watching her. It wasn't long before she felt the presence of the Mandalorian next to her. It was her turn to lead. "I'll follow you now," Shaylee whispered nonchalently, "but I'll stay a fair distance away. Motion if you see something suspicious."

Battle of Geonosis (AU @jediknightdantora)
Sev broke off from the rest of the clone troopers, he had a mission to complete where as they were just the main force for the fight. He had his pistols out right now as it’d be stupid to move across an open area with only a sniper equipped.
He slid across the ground as laser fire flew over him, droids, and a lot of them. As he slid he blasted them down, one after another. Once he had stopped sliding he took off running to cover where he continued picking off the droids, just as he had finished off the last of the droids and started on the super battle droids he was pinned down by two red-shield droidika. “Damn, their shields can’t be broken by blaster fire…”
He threw his last two thermal detonators which just barely took down the shields of one drodika which he poured at least five sniper shots into, nearly getting hit by the other droidika in the process. “I have nothing to take down that shield. A light saber should do it…. Where are you Dantora…”
Bursts of red light fired around her and the loud sound of blaster shots echoed through the air. Shaylee’s blue lightsaber flew around her, blocking each that came flying towards her. Her eyes were focused as she felt the force flowing strongly through her, guiding her arms and motions.
The time had come, but the onslaught of shooting made it hard for her to tear away from the others. They were bombarded. They needed all the help they could get… But she had a job to do and she knew it. Her first and for-most responsibility was to the Republic, even if that came at the sacrifice some. ”If this all goes well, few may need to be sacrificed,” she thought as she scanned the area for her contact.
Suddenly, out of the corner of her eye, she noticed one lone trooper, attempting to fight off two drodikas. Delta- 07. Shaylee took off in his direction, reflecting shots as she ran. One shot nearly missed her, instead sindging the edge of her brown robe, but she soon reached him and slide to a stop just yards away.
"Hey!" She yelled at the droids with a smirk on her face. Her plan was to draw their attention from him, so the Jedi and the clone could more easily surround them and take them down together. The drodikas stopped firing in response to her call and instead turned onto her. Shaylee, fully expecting the transition, raised her lightsaber and skillfully began to deflect their fire. "Keep shooting them!" she called as she began to move around, attempting to keep them occupied on her.
The one he had shot was firing seemingly desperately. It’s shield did not regenerate despite the increasing time. It seemed he had hit the droid’s shield generator. He fired a few more shots at that droidika and blew it’s visual sensors off before another shot caused it to explode. “I can’t hit the other one, it’s shields are immune to blaster fire!” he called out “You have to take the shields down with your saber!”
He shot at the droidika a few times to attempt to draw it’s attention. “Belay that!” he called noticing something he aimed up and started shooting at a small rock formation looming over the two republic fighters and the remaining droidika. After a few shots he shouted “RUN!” he took off running as a large quantitude of rocks fell, he managed to get out of the way as they crashed down on top of the remaining droid. “Jedi Master, are you alright?” he asked, climbing on top of the still rocks to see if she made it out of the way.
Shaylee grinned at the sight of the explosion. One down, one to go. She moved faster now, changing direction every few seconds to keep the droid busy, and continued to move her saber to deflect the shots. She crept closer, hoping to be able to get close enough to get a hit at its shield, but she stopped when she noticed the rocks above the droid begin to crumble. The next thing she heard was the trooper’s warning call and Shaylee immediately began to run away from the avalanche, deflecting a few more shots in the process. The heavy rocks began to fall to the ground and the last thing Shaylee saw before turning her head and jumping out of the way was the crashing of metal and a large storm of sand and dust.
The fire had seized but Shaylee kept her eyes closed, waiting for the dust to die down around her. After a few seconds, the Jedi turned her head to see a large pile of rock a few feet from her legs and coughed as a result of the lingering clouds of dirt. From the other side of the pile emerged a figure, and she was relieved to see that it was her contact. ”I’m fine,” she said as she quickly pushed herself off the ground and grinned. ”Nice work.”
Sev saluted “Republic Commando isn’t just a title ma’am.” he said before jumping down and making sure she was stable. “We need to move underground through a cave full of geonosians while the main force keeps them busy from above.” he said “Then we go in, kill the geonosian general and shut down the droid production.” he chuckled “I’ve got the explosives in my pack so I’m gonna have to avoid getting shot.” he added.
He then motioned for her to follow, leading her to an opening in the ground “Normally I’d just jump in, but I’m kind of a bomb right now so ladies first.” he said motioning for her to lead the way. “Kill anything that has a gun before you signal me that it’s okay to jump down.” he added.
Shaylee couldn't help but smile at the Commando's enthusiasm. It was refreshing to hear considering what was going on around them, and rather amusing. She walked quickly along side him, listening as he briefed her on their mission. A chuckle escaped her at the thought of all the explosives and his need to be protected. "Don't worry," she said, "I'll help you with that."
The opening loomed before them, darkness filling the deep space. There was no telling what was down there, so Shaylee grabbed her lightsaber in preparation. "I will," she said with a nod. "And keep an eye out for more droids while you're up here," she added before extending an leg over the opening and, with a deep breath, disappearing down the hole.
The Jedi fell for several, long seconds and finally caught herself as she hit the ground with a surprisingly soft thud. She was trained to be quiet and collected, and now was as important a time as ever to practice that most useful skill. She looked around her, her hand tightly grasping her lightsaber, noticing the long corridor she had found herself in. It was that of a typical Geonosian building, dirty and carved as if large termites had driven through the ground and made a city. Luckily, there were only two ways to go, in front of her or behind her, and the coast seemed to be clear.
"It's safe," she called, continuing to scan the hallway. But a sound suddenly echoed behind her, causing her to spin around and activate her lightsaber. A geonosian turned the corner in the cooridor behind her and clicked in alarm at the sight of her. Before he had time to react, a flash of blue sliced through him and his lanky body went crashing to the dirty ground. "Nevermind," Shaylee muttered to herself, thankful that there weren't more them.
Moons of Bogden
Without moving her head, Shaylee shifted her eyes to the window and noticed the referenced droid. It was clearly focused on them, causing the Jedi to turn her eyes back to the woman. ”I will take your advice and leave,” she said quietly, “but I would be more concerned about you, than me.”
At that moment, the droid suddenly turned and scurried away, as if it had just received a new mission or call. Shaylee watched it leave, worry growing in her eyes. Leaving, she began to think, may not be the best idea anymore. The droid had spotted them, a Mandalorian conversing with a Jedi. Leaving would not cover up the facts, it would simply be abandoning the woman to fight off the potential attacks on her own. Considering the Jedi was partly responsible for putting her in this situation, she felt partly responsible for seeing that she stay safe. ”Listen,” she said as she leaned over, “I understand that I am not a favorite with you, but I promise I mean only to help you. You have done nothing wrong, but others may not see it that way. I would not feel right leaving you unprotected should the droid report you. I know you are fully capable of protecting yourself, but if they think I’m still here, you may be outnumbered.” The Jedi paused for a moment, attempting to assess the woman’s reaction. ”You may need my help,” she carefully added.
Andreanna watched out the window, trying to determine where the droid had been headed, then looked back to the Jedi.
While she certainly didn’t think she needed — and definitely didn’t want — any help from any jetiise ever, she woman did have a point. The sight of their kind engaged in quiet conversation was likely to be even more suspicious than trying to kill each other in the street to anyone who knew anything of the animosity between the two drastically different ways of life.
"Okay. For now. At least until I can get out of here. And one of us needs to loose the outfit or walking together will draw far too much attention." She finished paying for her meal and stood. "Do you have a ship, or did you take public transport here?"
"I have a ship," she replied as fumbled through a pouch for money. "It's located in the outskirts of the city, so as not to draw attention if I needed to stay for a longer period of time." She frowned and turned her head back to the window a second later. An unmarked service droid, possibly a stripped-down protocol droid, stood motionless on the street down and across from the cantina. The glow of its pale yellow eyes just barely visible from the distance seemed affixed to her position.
Drawing her attention back to the Jedi, “So…” she began slowly, drawing the single-syllable word out for at least three. “Sorry, that’s all I can do for you.”
The Jedi’s eyes slowly widened at her first reply. Her plan had begun to work. She may not have gotten as much information out of her as she had hoped, but at least she had gotten another place to try, whether it was a real suggestion or not. There was still so much more she wanted to draw from the Mandalorian, but the clever woman had clearly figured out her mistake, making any further inquiry difficult.
Out of respect and gratitude for the information, Shaylee slowly bowed her head and looked back up with a intimidating gaze, letting her know that she knew there was more to the suggestion. ”Thank you for your time,” she simply stated before taking another slow drink.
The droid was still watching. She wondered if it was simply decommissioned, but the glowing photoreceptors said otherwise.
Leaning forward, Andreanna dropped her voice half an octave. “I’m really not big on Jedi, but…” She indicated out the window with a quick glance. “Something’s watching the cantina. Not sure what it’s after, but your…clothes are rather distinctive and bound to get attention. Friendly suggestion? Get out of town or make a change of wardrobe asap.”
Without moving her head, Shaylee shifted her eyes to the window and noticed the referenced droid. It was clearly focused on them, causing the Jedi to turn her eyes back to the woman. "I will take your advice and leave," she said quietly, "but I would be more concerned about you, than me."
