Pastries weren’t exactly a balanced meal. Objectively, he knew this. But he was so hungry that he couldn’t actually bring himself to care. He attached the plate– politely– and peered down at the holo, taking in the image.
“Are you worried that they’re massing for an attack?” Hungry though he may have been, he did know a thing or two about manners. He was a neat, deliberate eater, only speaking between bites.
“I have no reason to think they wouldn’t. This is a defensible position on high ground, and we control the valley to the east. But we’re still a target, and on previously CIS-controlled territory. Why not try and reclaim it?” Signe leaned over the table and continued to stare into the map. Her expression sours into a frown. “And yet, this is such a small area in the broad scope of the campaign. And the war.”
