Out with the old, in with the new(er).
My 1.5 year old driveshaft damaged after ujoint (partially) failed, didn’t notice until unhooking jeep from trailer.
Before (31s) and after 5" lift and 35" tires
4bt cummins TJ w/ 1tons & true hummer wheels, tires & beadlocks. beauty.
This is what dreams are made of. So much time and dedication to make that work. The 4bt is the goal for my LJ with a bit of a axle stretch.
This picture is after i loaded all of the Clayton suspension parts in to drop off at Attitude Performance to install. I installed Bushwacker flat fender flares, that over the years got ripped off the jeep a few times by trees and rocks. Because of how the flares mount, they are easily re attached. The L.O.D. rear bumper w/ tire carrier came a few months before i ordered the front bumper. I had to drill a few holes into the frame to mount the rear bumper and its frame tie-ins. Both bumpers have taken some tremendous hits with nothing to show for it besides some light scratches. I held off on the front bumper until I was able to get a winch to install them at the same time. Well black friday came and my dream winch, Warn 9.5xp, went on sale so I pulled the trigger on the synthetic line version. I couldnt be happier with the decision to go with that winch as it has been a workhorse so far with absolutely no problems.
Jeeps first upgrade was some Hella fog lights, which i realized I needed when driving down back country roads at night. Following the lights came new 31" Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs these greatly increased the ride as the tires I got on the jeep were cupped and created the dreaded Death Wobble at 45 mph.
Well here is the very unmodified form of my jeep. This is when I actually bought it back in January of 2012 with 49k miles on it. Looking at the prices for these LJs today, i can say I got it for a steal!
Dream tow rig.
Barely makes it in the garage now.
The lift performed absolutely incredibly! Clayton Offroad Long Arm Pro Series 4" The lift made the tires look tiny even without flexing. Attitude Performamce did an oustanding job installing the lift. Between Attitude and Clayton lift, the jeep actually rode better than stock on the road. I also installed a M.O.R.E. motor mount lift and JKS body lift to gain clearance for the skid plates. I replaced the steps with Poison Spyder Richochet Rockers. Southern Missouri Offroad Ranch was a great testing grounds. Although i could barely do half of the trails, they were so challenging.
Loaded up on Clayton Offroad parts to begin the build of my LJ. 2 piece transmission and engine skid plates came bare steel and shipped unpacked. Cleaned every part, primed, and painted 2-3 coats of spray paint. Fox steering stabilizer and Currie Currectlync. Now waiting for my turn at Attitude Offroad to install my lift.
First time ever being offroad back in Nov 2015! Now I'm an addict! Took the LJ, went with 2 members of a offroad club I joined. And being completely stock besides tires, I didnt get stuck. Added some Bushwacker Flat Fenders, have been ripped off the jeep a few times since this picture.
Side by side 93 YJ and 06 LJ Picture from 2013 during college while home for the summer. The tarp is because the YJ leaks. Both Jeeps prerty much stock. Upgraded tires, 31’s on both, LJ tires much newer than YJ. Installed bigger shackles on yj to keep tires from rubbing when pulling in driveway. Installed & wired Hella 550FF fog lights in the LJ while at college.
