One two months old Aquarium.
Now I have few amano and couple of ram chihilids.
Current art for my aquarium after the restart. Plant dirt + sand.
First day of my Aquarium and second photo was taken after 20 days.
Still no fish, but I’m planning it soon, also to get some more plants. For now I have:
Echinoodrus (I think Ozelot), Sagittaria subulata, Cryptocoryne, Alternanthera (I didn’t know if it will grow but actually wow! it worked!), Limnophila, Cardamine lyrata
I know I wasn’t much active but I had really huge issues in my tank. My fish kept being sick and I ended up restarting whole tank after the dropsy. I lost almost all rasboras and worst thing is that my old betta got stuck one day inside the driftwood I had... I still have quarantine tank for the rest of them that are still alive but I dobt if they will live much long there...
Since few weeks I restarted my main tank, changed plants and decided to buy “sad” looking betta and take care of him now. I will make him healing baths in salt and later in vitamins and I hope he will get better.
Poor baby has stiff fins and doesn't swim well. He was kept in store in a small plastic box with no filtration nor heater...
my tank
My betta.
I changed the aquascape, substrate to new and the tank is gonna prepare itself now. It got white bacteria bloom, it's a good sign. I hope soon I will let my fish in. They are kept in small, 20l temporary tank.
It happened. I’m putting fresh sand and made new aquascape.
Sad news
Over past few weeks all of my rasboras died of same disease. I suspect it was bloat or dropsy. Only two rasboras survived. Also my betta got better, but he seems to still have bit swollen eye. I suspect many things that could cause death of my fish and soon I’m planning to change the substrate into normal sand, clean up plants and re-arange the tank. I hope the rest of rasboras will be fine. They seem okay and behave normally. Idk if I will decide to buy large team of rasboras this time. I migh create smaller group of 6-8 and maybe 2-3 female bettas for it.
Febuary 2016 - September 2016
Some photo update. Few more months and it's going to be year old aquarium!
One of my rasboras jumped out from the tank today in the morning! I am not sure when exactly but I accidently touched it with my feet as I walked to the tank. I catched it and put back into the tank, inside separated net, but it swims in shock. I have bad feelings but maybe it wont die... I can’t let another fish die like this.
Feeding with live mosquito larvae. They love it.
Amano, rasboras and betta
Im so glad to see all of my shrimp being allright. All of them came out in the evening to eat some algee.
Today morning I observed some nasty things in my tank. I found dead, half eaten fish between leaves lying on sand. It was one of the rasboras that I bought recently. I saw it was paler than others and kind of kept away from the rest, but it ate and swim quite allright. Still i blame that store and too short quarantine time. Luckily the rest of the fish don't show any signs of sickness. Just in case I added some salt with aloe durring waterchange few days ago. Also my betta's tail got worse. Now his tail and dorsal fin have larger bite marks... Im concerned about his tail.
Kumquat is so pretty! I love how his tail glows (it’s really hard to see the glowing blue without flash).
This is one sexy betta.
