Have you seen that clip of Yuzu choosing a Kanji character for some skaters going around on twitter? He chose something that means soft, gentle and flexible for Javi. I find it interesting that most of us see them in a certain way, but how they describe each other is exactly the opposite. Yuzu always talks how kind and gentle Javi is and Javi usually describes Yuzu as an ultimate winner (although I think he might be avoiding more personal stuff on purpose), but fandom tends to swap that around.

My flip take yesterday was “consider: Javi has been the bottom all along” (but that’s pretty reductive of both their working relationship and sexual roles in general anyway).

I think you’re onto something with how they talk about each other, but I also think that must be the side they each see of each other the most. Javi’s kindness is still remarkable to Yuzu after all this time, and he repays it by working his hardest and taking their competition seriously.

javi comenting yuzu's programs, being so soft and fond of him. a dream

I can’t believe that even though Javi left Toronto over a year ago, so many sweet and fond things keep coming out. Javi isn’t just commenting the programs, he’s coming to Worlds, and Yuzu’s blurb in the program book is half him talking about Javi! Their friendship is really lovely. 😭
