Listless gaze perused the streets to either side, legs treading with great difficulty as untimely side effects seeped through. Movements were sluggish as a hand stabilized the weary form by means of the siding of a building, fingers clenching as footsteps came to deciding halt. Black strands laid limp over obscured onyx, lips smacking as if a dehydrated fool in the desert.
âAh ⊠I could really use a smoke âŠâŠâŠ â
Unfortunate circumstances had once more played their hand against the vice chief, flashes of violence endured when body had been returned all those days ago. All woman truly were beasts, men stood no chance against such a tyrannical rule should ire be induced as cerulean hues and golden hair were sure proof of such. Wounds inflicted were a daily occurrence for the man and thus of no real consequence other than time necessary to recover a battered pride, added insult to injury made aware when pockets contained not a trace of beloved cancerous sticks.
Withdraw had never been a pleasant experience for any victim subjected to it, reminiscent of hell itself. The prospect of suffering such trying conditions were far from enticing for the vice chief. The memory of slimy balls and intact virginity pushed Hijikata forward in search of sighting a single cigarette to avoid yet another impromptu journey to space.
Itâd been weeks of little sleep, of plaguing migraines during this plight with no end in sight.
Hand rubbing at a throbbing temple in vain, feet once more began the tireless path down the sidewalk. Was there a ban on smoking that he had not been aware of? It was the only option that could be considered by an ever growing chagrin. Why was it that people thought it fit to punish him like this, a just officer of the law! A thorough thrashing so graphic censor bars concealing their whole body would be necessary was the future he had set in stone for such bastards, followed by a swift sepukku.
Enforcing the law to a standard as high as that required a clear mind and strength brought about only by blessed nicotine; he needed to find some, and quick. Staggering feet led a hunched figure over to the nearest bystander, hand latching into their shirt with strained expression as he finally conceded to the fact he couldnât find some alone.
ââ Hey man, do a brother a favor and help me find a cigarette.â
A beatific smile was plastered on his face instead of that unpleasant gas mask he wore, Clear freeing himself of all restraints on this very day. Even if he could find the extra baggage to keep with him at all times, the gas mask was no longer necessary, not for hiding behind the bulky goggles he saw the world through and most of all not as an object of reassurance that the people on campus would not judge him. Who cares what Grandpa says! He certainly was not here nor anywhere anymore, long passing into the afterlife when Clear was left on his own to fend for himself in the streets.Â
A reflection of himself casted through a thick mirror in his dorm, he was still uncertain if he seemed just as human-looking as he had pursued to be. Leaving his regrets behind, as well as the gas mask on his bed beside freshly washed and folded clothes, Clear entered the fresh air of the Tancho premises. Precarious, the android dreamily wandered aimlessly about the school grounds all on his own, rose-colored eyes darting anxiously about.Â
"So far, so good," Clear spoke reassuringly to himself, a clumsy stride in his step could not have made his incompetence any more obvious. Still, even though there was no rain in today's weather forecast, the snow-haired male insisted to still carry his favorite accessory: a transparent umbrella. So much for encouragement. Just when Clear was about to open his mouth to begin singing a comforting song aloud, a more unpleasant noise escaped at the very second a firm hand took hold of his shirt tail. That is, the senior at Tancho would have let out a girly little shriek if he had not gnashed his teeth together to prevent the sound that demanded release. Well, now his jaw certainly hurt like hell.Â
"Y-Y-Yes?" the android slowly turned his head toward the voice that directed his attention, a faint smile being left of what glee he held dear. In actuality, being grabbed like that scared the bejeezus out of him, but he certainly could not be scared after all he put himself through today.Â
ââ Hey man, do a brother a favor and help me find a cigarette.â
Cigarette? Processing... processing... bingo!Â
"Ooooh! So, you're a smoker, yes? In dire need for nicotine? Something to puff? Cigarette? Yes, of course!" Who knew needing a cigarette would turn humans into desperate savages? It was strange, indeed, and certainly Clear was always willing to help absolutely anyone at any given time. What exactly would he be getting himself into, though?
