Progress shots of a piece from A Love Story: The Aztec And The Mohican.
I always enjoy seeing art pieces in progress to see how the artist brings their work to life.

Envisioning Olrox in his past life. It's an interesting contrast coming from a civilization that revered the sun and relied on it for survival, only to later be turned into a creature that must avoid it completely for survival.

A Love Story: The Aztec and the Mohican
Inspired by the scene where Olrox shares memories of his past lover with Mizrak. I like the dialogue of this scene because there is a lot love and admiration in the way Olrox speaks about his Mohican lover. He was passionate, convicted and proud of who he was, and these are probably the things that made Olrox fall in love with him. And I think these are the same traits that draw Olrox to Mizrak. This scene in particular gives Olrox an extra layer of complexity not only because we're learning more about his past, but also because we are seeing his motivations and beliefs. Looking forward to seeing to see what they do with his character in season 2!
"I am not a revolutionary leader. I am a girl who used to be a slave, until slavery could be endured no longer. We lit a spark, a few of us at first hiding in the mountains. But the sugar and tobacco fields had dried out in the sun. And the spark lit a flame, and then the flame was an inferno and all their power and cruelty crumbled before us. "

The Aztec and the Mohican Warrior
"I've lived a long time as human and vampire. But I've only really loved once. He was from a little town in Massachusetts if you've ever heard of that, which in those days was a colony. But he wasn't a colonist. He was proud to be Mohican, with roots deep in the land and forest. He burned with such passion, about the world, about how the people, 'the people' that's how he talked, could win this thing called 'freedom'. Even people like him, people whose land had been stolen I mean. Like mine was, oh so long ago. But he fought with them. The Revolutionaries, he fought with them. He almost made me believe in it too."
"You wouldn't understand. You're an animal which lost its soul centuries ago..."
