The shop got a lot of small customers, people introducing their kids to the wonderful world of comics for the first time. The last thing she wanted was a kid to be introduced to the less than wonderful world of swearing at the same time. The brunette swore like a sailor; but at work, she tried to keep it PG. “Language.” She commented, instantly feeling like Steve Rogers. A soft chuckle escaped her lips. “I don’t really even consider this working for the man. Elias is honestly the coolest boss I could ask for. He’s so chill. We sometimes just random lie down in the back and talk about multiverse theory or some other random stuff.”

interntally cussing this time and whipping her head around to see if anyone heard her, jenga laughs and lowers her voice.

“sorry...sometimes i forget that not everyone thinks that ‘bad words’ are just words. i get it though, hehehe.”

double checking to make sure she didn’t want to blow any more money today (she doesn’t), jenga starts searching around in her messenger bag for her wallet. she’s realizing how much unnecessary stuff she tends to carry around, making it hard to find anything quickly. 

“that sounds awesome...straight out of an 80s movie. i’m picturing that, and it’s like a scene where i’d want to listen to an hour of ‘lofi hip hop cool study beats to chill to’ while watching it.”

“we’ll do anything you want tomorrow, jengy, i promise,” she whispers, reaching for the girl’s cheek, cupping it with her palm. gabrielle smiles at her question, kissing the tip of her nose. “i was…planning to ask you if i could sleep here, good thing you beat me to it,” she says teasingly as she wiggles her eyebrows at the other. “i’ll surely have you for breakfast though, even though you already have a hard time walking on your own, means i have to stay longer so i can help around.” she watches the girl pull away from her arms for a moment, a light chuckling escaping her lips when a blanket was pulled on top of them. “this is adorable,” she says, running her hand over the blanket for a moment before pulling the brunette close to her again. “it’s okay, i can…i can hold you, i kinda…i kinda do like holding you.” she grins the moment she kisses her cheek. “i’m glad you had a great time, love.” 

jenga laughs when gab wiggles her eyebrows at her. it's so cute and funny when she does that. she also sort of couldn't believe gab also wanted to sleep there with here, let alone hang out with her the next day. "oh yeah, i'm gonna be really sore tomorrow aren't i? i'll be your damsel in distress." jenga laughs sleepily. she likes me she likes me she likes what i want her to do to me why does it feel like i've known gabrielle brady for longer than i've been alive she starts pressing soft kisses on gab's cheek in a regular rhythm. "i'm gonna do this until one of us falls asleep because i like the way you smile when i kiss you." the sleepiness was making jenga a bit delusional now.

jenga: she saw me drop my groceries and carried them into my apt it kind of is getting gayer from there, uh

“What? Am I, like, Excalibur now? Wait… Should that be my next tattoo?” Elly then grew silent for a moment as she thought over the answer to her own question. Now that the injury on her arm had healed fully, she wanted to get something tattooed over the scar. A sword might be kinda cool. Plus it’d pair nicely with the arrow already on her arm. “No seriously… Should I get Excalibur as my next tattoo?” She was already half decided on it; but she’d still value Jenga’s opinion.

“I think that’s probably enough for today too. I know I’m supposed to, like, encourage more sales; but I never wanna push someone to get what they need. Plus if you get less now, you’re more likely to come back for more. It’s a win-win, y’know?” It was a vicious yet totally awesome cycle. Plus the brunette loved to see regulars in the comic shop.

jenga’s afraid of needles but likes when other people get cool tattoos in her wake. that kind of seems like an ongoing theme with her. she’s thought about getting tattoos over her own scars on her leg, but can never go through with it for a reason she can’t put her finger on besides the needle fear.

“i think that would be rad, all symbolic and stuff! super neat, i’ll go with you if you don’t want to go by yourself!” 

jenga laughs at elly’s sort of reverse sale’s pitch. 

“hehe, you work for the man but you also say fuck the man. i like it, i like it a lot.” she’s half joking. even though stores like this are visually and sensory overwhelming at times, jenga very much enjoys them and they’re very much up her alley. she’ll be back, plus it’s nice to see and now be able to hang out with elly on at least semi-regular basis.
