Hey everyone! I’d like to thank everyone who’s been following my work, and I apologize for the lack of updates in months past. A lot of things have been going on, and I have a ton of paperwork to do! (on top of taxes ;u;)

I just got my invitation for PR, got my passport renewed, took the IELTS (got the results just now), and passed my probation! all in one month haha

As for the show I’m working on, no news yet for release date or trailer, but we’re getting there. I’ve mostly been doing texturing/shading work with a sprinkling of modeling ocassionally. I’ll post updates as I get them!

Foliage Test

Can’t sleep, so I decided to do some research using MASH to make foliage (rendered in Arnold/Maya)

MASH sure is interesting and I feel it has a lot of potential (it really does). I want to continue learning more about it once I get some free time. Work’s been kicking my butt lately, so have this tiny update :>

Career Update

Hey folks, sorry for the inactivity, but I come bearing good news! I just started a new job at ICON Creative Studio last Monday! Work has been keeping me busy, especially since I’m more used to a game art workflow than that of software rendering.

I will be dropping my current game art projects for now, to focus on making assets that are relevant to my current work. That said, watch out for updates on some software rendered assets :)

Character Weapon Staff (WIP)

Here’s another project I’m working on! I actually started on this project as part of an online class, but haven’t had the time to finish. Now, I’m jumping back into this and doing my best to polish and push my texturing to the limit!

Here’s a breakdown of the asset so far:

Overall, all I’ve *really* textured and slightly polished is the gold on the jaws. All the others are quick material slapping and color adjustments. I might soon jump onto the vfx of this piece and sculpt the glowing smoke to get it closer to the feel of the concept. 

This project is currently on top of my priority list, so I’ll be working on this lad a bit more!

Abomination Sword (WIP)

I’ve already done a fair bit of work on this project, so I’ll show a couple of in progress screenshots I have saved

at first I planned on creating the entire set of weapons, but ultimately liked the sword best, so decided to push that one to completion. The dagger was the first try; trying to get the style down and seeing if it would work in 3D. The flail was the second attempt, with a more chiseled look. I settled on somethine between the two, and used that for the sword. Unfortunately, toothy mace might never see the light of hi-res sculpting :(

for now, I will be setting this project aside, to work on another project I have indefinitely put on hold. More updates to come :)

Hey all, this blog is going to be a notebook, and progress tracker of sorts for my professional art. I mostly make 3d assets, but I paint sometimes as well. I’ve been making characters for a while, and am currently aiming to be more of a generalist. As always, feedback is always welcome :)
